Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I follow Tiny Orchard Quilts on youtube and she creates the best patterns. This one is free and when I saw it, I remembered my Tula Pink Linework fat quarter bundle that I pre ordered from Fat Quarter Shop. Join me as I walk you through step by step on how I used the pattern and my Tula Pink fat quarter bunde to make this fun quilt. It's called plaid, but the placement makes me think of gift packages wrapped with ribbon.

I watched your video and it was so simple I decided to give it a try! I am new to quilting but I love to do embroidery and sew things for my children. All my daughters are too old for mom to make them clothes but I make shorts for my son and he likes to help me out (he is 2 1/2)! I want to make all 5 of my children a quilt so that they will always have something made by me that they will snuggle up to to remember me by when I’m no longer with them. So I did this one as my first true quilt top for my third daughter! She is a Harry Potter fan and so we got some HP fat quarters and followed your video! It took a couple of hours to stitch it all together but she absolutely loves it! I have a backing for it but I want to make all 4 of my girls a quilt top before I tackle the quilting. I love watching your videos! As I am currently out with Covid and not doing well your videos are giving me something to look forward to as I am ready to be better and start on the next quilt! My 4th daughter wants me to video her quilt making and share it on KZread the way you do as she wants me to do that with them all so she can say she has a KZread channel! Maybe I will not sure. Please make more videos!

When chain piecing like that you can leave them connected the whole time. All you have to do is connect the last piece and since the whole block is somewhat connected, it would be easy to connect the rows and nest accordingly

If you leave it attached at the first seams you sewed and left it attached when you put on the third seam of row, then you just have to flip the rows together and sew them to each other! All of the junctions are still connected and it’s harder to make a mistake in the piecing. Also,if you leave you’re sewing mid block, you have no problem at any time in figuring out where you were.

I'm still struggling with masks due to needles breaking, bobbin breaking, wonky fat quarters that are hard to line up & cut straight, thread that was ancient, tension issues, masks that don't fit every face, straps that were too short, endless issues that caused me to stop from frustration. Re-start, stop, start again...Adding to frustration, I bought the wrong size (12"x18") cutting mat for cutting fat quarters. Invest in larger size cutting mats, new thread & new cutting blades. I finally made a bunch of adult masks but now on to child masks and dealing with fitment issues again...

you don't press your fabric first? like the video
@aprilscraftroom
3 жыл бұрын
It just depends. If there are creases in the fabric - yes. At some point it gets pressed, but that might no always be the first thing I do. I like the pieces I press to be more manageable, so I try to cut first and then press. Does that make sense? I don't want to press a yard or 2 of fabric. And the fat quarters in this project were very smooth. Thanks for watching. April
