    Thanks for your post. I am interrested in knowing how did you get 9 V given that I have been getting 0.5V per cup. So, with 4 cups, I would get 2 Volts. How could you get 9 Volts? Which material did you use?

    Basic science experiment. Dissimilar metals in salt water will create a current but at the cost of one of the metals dissolving away due to galvanic effects. An I experimented with this: Using aluminum foil, galvanized roofing nails, and bare copper wire. While these did produce an electrical current, it was too low to be of any real use.

  • @MovingtoMiami

    Maybe making the electrical components that use less power would allow for this free energy to be used.

  • @zaphodthenth

    @zaphodthenth

    5 ай бұрын

    @@MovingtoMiami it's not free at all. The metals have to be mined out, smelted, and formed into metals. All of which makes them "Not Free" in any way. Plus like I said one of the metals dissolves away in the process of electrical generation, and once it's gone there's no more power being created. And since the electrical flow depends upon the metals used, the voltage is set and increasing the size of the cell will not increase the voltage along with it.

    If a submarines shell had a coating of thousands of these hooked up to a battery, would it generate enough power to power an electric motor for incredibly long distances?

  • @mrswimmytanker7422

    @mrswimmytanker7422

    5 ай бұрын

    I would not recommend it and frankly while that is a intresting idea of basically turning the sea into a power source it could both cause issues unforseen and one issue would be power usage vs what is actually produced. The electric motors are huge and require alot of voltage plus electrical systems for the ship such as lights, airsupply, machinery, computers, and any other systems. Nuclear powered subs produce plenty of power and they also still use diesel electric in some nations with it being silent at a dead stop compared to a nuclear sub. But back to practicality I would not want this as it would give people a false idea of a all electric ship or sub which in a unforgiving sea is dangerous

  • @problemattk9966

    @problemattk9966

    18 күн бұрын

    You're right. What about if we refined this technology and used it on small submarine drones instead of risking real people in the submarine. I think it would be a great military tool if this technology was looked into and refined by detachable plates that would fall off revealing another plate once the first one was corroded and used up
