@@realimereads2707 I mean, he didn't even eat it and he exploded. That's some Medea levels of poisoning (she poisoned a crown and a dress, and who put it on caught fire. Then her dad cacthed fire when he holded her dead body).

This is also just normally how anyone would play an adventure game like this. You can't just *solve the puzzle* right away - you'll miss all the fun unique death dialogue!

I know this comment is a year old, but it reminded me of when I played 2064: Read Only Memories, and there were a few funny death dialogs and stuff in that game the one I remember the most is (spoilers ahead by the way) When I you have to make a choice between saving this huge AI thing or destroying it, you can just poor rotten milk on it, and what makes it even funnier is this carton of rotten milk has been in your inventory the entire game from when you picked it up in the beginning. It’s a great game I definitely recommend it.

You can see the beehives in the background though , the puzzle still is nonsensical but it there is some way you could possibly figure it out

The fact that the answer to the puzzle was a random item in your inventory that you could barely make an connection to the current situation truly ties in the whole point-and-click adventure game theme.

@@yfnratchet At least in Henry Stickmin collection, the options are clearly presented to you, so getting things wrong is more of an amusing happenstance than any reasonable source of frustration. A lot of point and click adventure games don't give you your options so clearly, so it's a lot easier to get stuck having no idea what you're supposed to do.

This is basically 12 Ounce Mouse. If you enjoy this, you will most likely enjoy that, tho it's far more chaotic and stupid, so inebriation is almost mandatory

This was done so well that I legitimately thought this was an actual game for a second The animation and voice acting is just amazing, this is probably the best animation I've ever seen

I like to imagine that the players dialogue options are for the owl: you play an oft-ignored advisor to a very stupid princely protagonist.

king's quest five was THE mega-hit of PC gaming in 1995. it featured the first full voice acting of any game, ever. Cedric the Owl was Our Hero's animal companion, and also very clearly a Sierra developer putting on an extremely stupid voice. he did precisely jack and shit for you the whole game, aside from having the voice clip "NO GRAHAM DON'T" go off as part of several deaths. look up the retsupurae of king's quest five, it is amazing, this series defined PC gaming in the early 90s and from this you can determine PC games were bad

Its actually wholesome when you think about how without the game logic thing of restarting, the demon itself mightve been just having a wholesome fun of bringing the king guy back to life from an instant painless death just for the sake of having quality comedic time with the king.

Justin McElroy fought so hard against being a GM for Adventure Zone. But, this video proves that he's the king of NPCs.

So you could say the voice cast is "Justin, Justin, and Me."

I love how the king seems like an alright dude, he’s just a massive airhead.

Also a great gag on point and click puzzles. The answer to give him the honey was always there, because you could see the bee hives in the background. But they’re very easy to miss from the background and makes the honey answer seem very arbitrary while the jewels item seems like the right answer

Funny enough, there is an old Holy Grail point and click. Played it on a Mac computer back in 1999, and have never been able to find it again. Had minigames like Tetris with the corpses on the dead cart, combat scenario with Black Knight, and all sorts of funny stuff. Pains me I have never found another copy so I could finally finish it.

The King is such a likable character, even tho he's a disaster lol

This never gets old. Always makes me laugh. And the art direction, voice acting, sound effects... music... amazing.

I mean… being poisoned twice doesn’t matter much when you have the unholy power to revert time at your whim. That bog-standard old man simply does not have that, he’s dead forever… a shame.

If Worthikids, Seth Everman, and ProZD teamed up, they could make a real video game. They would have too much power.
