"The Heller Approach" is an acting technique that gives actors a simple yet practical and solid foundation so that actors are ready and empowered with reliable and easily accessible tools to work in any medium. The technique and its application are based on muscle memory and not on past personal experiences.
The amazing technique is born from working actors and directors. It truly frees the artist to access feelings and thoughts that are universal to all humans, helping actors to create the most believable, entertaining characters in a way that is conducive to the fast-paced entertainment industry.
"The Heller Approach" is taught exclusively by Brad Heller, a working actor, director, and acting coach. Group classes are available every Wednesday night and Tuesday days in Los Angeles, California. Private lessons are also available via Skype, Zoom, or in person.
Professor Heller taught for 5 years at UCLA before opening his own acting studio in 1995. Heller's teachings are based on the works of his former teacher and mentor, Don Richardson, who was an original member of the Group Theater, which was the nucleus of Acting in the United States. Richardson's fellow students were Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and Uta Hagen. Don was one of the Group Theatre students who said, "The Method is NOT what acting is about." He directed over 800 television shows in his time.
Don's acting technique became a rescue for Brad Heller because despite having a degree in theater from one of the world's finest theater programs, Boston University School of Theater Arts, and trying multiple acting techniques, Brad could not enjoy the process of acting. Combining Don Richardson's acting technique with the knowledge of anxiety from Dr. Eda Gorbis and lessons from his mentor Academy Award winner Seth Winston, and more, the Heller Approach has become trusted by thousands of students globally.

Hello, thank you for your kind words and support to the channel? How long have you been acting for? That is not a stupid question. Whether you reach out to an agency, do a showcase, are referred to an agent... it's all part of the process. Brad Heller encourages all his students to seek the proper training, and foundation before seeking representation. It's so important to learn the craft before going out into the industry. Are you currently taking any lessons?
Can you talk about jobs that actors can do just to make ends meet if they didn't get an audition please? Also how can you train beginners like me who live in new York?

Hey Hi Brad and TheHellerApproach team. First of all thanks a lot for this youtube channel and helpful videos. I am following your channel for quiet long and all the videos are amazing. Sir I have 1 request and 1 question. Please help me with these. First: Sir, Please tell about the ways/exercise to improve the voice quality and voice modulation. Second: yesterday I went for audition in local theatre. They handed over the scripts and asked to read out the 3 pages(53-56) in 60 pages script. They didnt even gave us the 5 minutes to prepare first. So in such conditions when I dont even know whats going on in the script. How I think about objective and invoke emotion? How am i suppose to perform in such situations?

Hi Naveen, thank you for your kind words and support to the channel! These are great questions. As you may know Brad Heller receives many messages, and emails like this daily. The best thing we suggest is taking some online acting classes, or group lessons with Brad Heller. He will train you in all of these area's and answer specific questions. You were given a cold read at your audition, which is a very common process. Brad Heller teaches his student how to properly and confidently handle this situations while still executing effectively. I'm 29 and have been wanting to try acting for awhile like 6 years at least, just now getting the motivation / courage ...I live in the UK . do you guys appreciate that I'd rather land work in the U.S I just got done watching The Movie Swingers aha! y'know the one w Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau...I just really want that life living in LA, I am so fed up of Scotland, its unbearable to be honest, so can you help me find my way ?

It's really important to have the proper training, and to establish a solid foundation in your craft. Brad Heller offers online acting lessons via Skype webcam, which has been extremely effective for many of students around the world. Skype lessons consist of but are not limited to the following: scene study/scene analysis, audition technique and cold reading technique, career management, tools in overcoming stage fright, improv technique and much more. The good news is that Brad Heller himself understands stage fright and helps his students overcome those fears. When you have the proper foundation, and technique to rely on, you will find yourself much more confident with your work, or in front of other people. You obviously have the desire to act, and we encouraged you to try an acting class. We offer a free audit for first time students. This is a great opportunity to get you in the room, watch the other actors, see how Brad Heller teaches, and get a feel for everything.
