I just got my first frame drum today. I'm glad I found this channel. This is was right in that sweet spot of not too easy and not too hard.

Yes, it can take some getting used to with the shoulders. Try rotating between playing on the lap and playing hand held to give relief. Also practice with a doumbek some of the time or a smaller frame drum so you can work your fingers without over-working the shoulder. Happy playing!
