When I saw Queen at Knebworth park, we had no idea it was to be his last live performance with the band and we had no idea he was ill the way he strutted around the stage. He was diagnosed with aids the following year

Freddie is missing every second, when Freddy died I was still a young girl and it broke my heart when he died. My mother told me that since I was born she could only calm me down with his songs, I am now 41 years old and still hear his songs every day. Even now that I am writing this message, the tears are running. Freddie You have given me courage so often with your songs and got some deep hole I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart. I love you forever.

What a fantastic video. He was so brave to continue working when he was so sick, but that was his wish. I can't imagine how devastating it was for Brian, Roger and John. He was beautiful, loving, caring, generous, funny and a true gift to our world. A man with a beautiful soul. Love you always, Freddie.

  • @RavenmoonCrocker

People do this everyday though. Not just musicians, farmers, parents, grandparents. You have to keep on going, even if you are sick. You've got to be brave! I am sure it was difficult for his bandmates, but it would have been even more devastating for his parents, and siblings. People tend to forget that there is always family, who loved and supported that individual from the get go. We love to say beautiful things about people, but his own friends and family would often say he was pompous, controlling, and often arrogant. Nobody is perfect after all. But loving someone is also loving their imperfections. Everyone is a gift to our world as well; not just singers or celebrities - everyone.

Freddie’s death broke my heart. I have never recovered. My brother-in-law was in hospice dying of AIDS at the same time. It was a terrible time for me. Hiw can I ever put into words what Freddie meant to me? I adored and revered him. He was a true original, unlike anyone else. His music has stood the test of time. That is the sign of true greatness. I watch his iconic Live AID performance and cry and smile at the same time. That was the best of Freddie, the true essence of his brilliance. I will always be grateful that he lived and did what he did best. We are all so much better for it.

I adore him too. I know it may sound crazy, but it was Freddie mercury who jolted me out of depression. His words in quite a few lyrics spoke to my soul. Especially prince of the universe. It ignited the once lit fire in me, to burn again, for my well being. It's like, I jumped up from that dark place I was in. I'll never forget it. (September of 2022.) But he is always saying something exciting in his lyrics. I really love FM. My condolences to your brother 😔 💐

Your comment is so on point. 👍 I’m so sorry about your brother. It’s a horrible tragic thing to watch anyone, especially a loved one, go through a terminal illness. 🙏 I also love watching that Live Aid performance. I bet if KZread ever did a count on my highest videos watched, it’d be in the 1000s and definitely the top one. I was born in ‘73 so I grew up with Queen’s music always playing in my bedroom, then my car, and now, as I’m older, blaring through my own house. Funny story, I had a friend over who brought their 12-year-old son with them. As his mother and I were having our visit, Queen came on the radio and I excitedly jumped up to turn up the volume. It was on a channel that, on the weekend, they would play 3 songs in a row by the same band/artist. After they played, he asked who it was.😳😳 I looked at his mother and said, ‘Are you kidding me?!?! ARE YOU EFFIN’ KIDDING ME?!?! How does your son not know QUEEN?!?!’ Her and I used to BLARE their music when we’d go out cruising’ around our hometown when we were in high school. PLUS, we were both on the basketball team and our warmup set had 3 Queen, (out of 5), songs on it! I was shocked and dismayed!! I went into a huge ovation about who they are and how they iconic their songs are and how legendary Freddie was. I’m proud to say I changed a young man’s life that day!😊 (I cursed his mother out for not introducing them to him wayyyyy earlier though! We stopped being friends after that day. JUST KIDDING! 😂)

Freddie was my inspirationand I love him with all my heart and soul. He did so much for all us super fans!! I will never get over his death. He achieved and accomplished so much for all of us fans. He went to college to become the best musician he could b for all of us to pursue a career in music and arts. He held a job in music for all of us. Freddie was accelling in everything he did. Just because he loved men and women didn't make him a bad person. He just loved everybody that's how he was. I think when people bash him it's a terrible atrocity!! Freddie loved life and wanted to live. He wanted to live his life to the fullest and he did just that. Being called gay is not something that people should take lightly. He wanted his privacy and that should have been respected for him and it just wasn't. The media hounded Queen over this and and Freddie wasn't alright with it. Freddie didn't know he had aids for some time before aids was even discovered. It must have been devasting for him to get that news. Can u even imagine being told that? I for one know I would have been devastated. Freddie still remained steadfast wanting his privacy after that. He was such a loving soul to want to protect those close and around him. Aids is a terrible disease and no one should b put to shame for it!! Aids needs to be addressed by all of us!! We must find a cure for this deadly disease. It is like being told u r dying of cancer. It's a disease!! So please give to an aids foundation nearest u or donate to the Phoenix Mercury Trust. Freddie would b so proud of us knowing we carried this on for him. I will never forget my Freddie and I still love him too!! One day I will meet him in the heavens above I know that's where he is!! I will never forget himand will advocate for him wherever I go. He was a man who loved unconditionally!! He was the best performer, artist and musician I have had the pleasure to grow up with. I listened to his music from the 70s on up to date. I will follow Queen and give them the support they so deserve. I love all of them!! Keep up the fight Brian and Roger because u deserve all the love and respect from all of us Queen fans!! I'm so sorry that John has decided to retire his music career. He took Freddies death very hard. I will always love u too John!! I'm sorry things couldn't be different.

Today is the first day I hear about this man, it feels like I’ve known him forever by listening just his short documentary, I just find my self loving him and crying for him. By the time he died I was six months away to be born, but I just find my self loving him just by watching his documentaries today, R.I.P SIR

Pamela Adams its pretty much the same with me altho I had heard many of there songs over the years I didn't really know much about the band or Freddie but when I saw Bohemian Rapsody I fell in love with Queen and particularly Freddie and now I can't get enough. I play there concert Dvds all the time and their Cds are the only ones played in my car when I'm driving. I've become a Freddie nut. Lol. Such a great voice and performer list to the world. I often wonder why all the really good singers die young.

To any new fan of Freddie, do yourself a favor and look up the song Barcelona. I love all his music but that song is special because Freddie loved opera and his favorite singer was a Spanish opera singer. He was thrilled to make an album with her. There is a whole album by him and her. (I can't remember her name) but just Google it. Turn it up really loud and jam it. God i love that song.. 😎

Don't use that movie as a reference point. The Freddie Mercury you seen in that movie was a work of fiction and fabricated lies with mistruths about him and the band. KZread has plenty of real documentrys on Freddie and Queen which tells the real story.
