I don't know if John Deacon was the greatest bass player ever, as you suggest, but he is certainly one of the most intelligent. I've played bass for almost 50 years and I guess I know a bit about it for that reason. John Deacon is a brilliant bass player who doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He was never flashy or showy and shunned the limelight. Technically he is excellent and his creative skills are outstanding. But then he is a good all round guitarist too. He has a very melodic style and everyone knows his bass riffs, from Under Pressure to Kinda Magic, Dragon Attack, Somebody to Love, etc. Is he the greatest bass player ever.....well, I don't know. There are many great players from John Entwistle to Jaco Pastorius. They are all great and John deserves a place amongst them

There are certain times in your life when it feels like the world stays still. For me, the date they released the passing of Freddy, I was 27 years old. I remember my family was sitting in our living room watching the news when it was announced. We cried like babies 😢 I remember going outside and for those next 5 minutes there was not a single sound. You could literally hear a pin drop. All of a sudden a gust of wind came through and I was convinced that it was Freddie making his one last round around the world singing, “Love of my life”. 😢 I am now 60 years old and have never seen another artist play a crowd the way he did. I’ve never heard another crowd sing as loud as they did when Queen was performing ❤ To this day, it still stings to know he left this earth way too soon. When Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I remember his band mates accepting the award with so much pride, but you could still see the emptiness on their faces because he was not there to accept such a huge honor that he helped them get. ❤
