In the final round of the 2022 SAS Championship, Fred Couples carded a 12-under 60 to finish at 20-under par, six strokes clear of the field for his 14th victory on the PGA TOUR Champions. Couples, 63, is the first player to shoot his age or better in the final round to win on PGA TOUR Champions. His 60 is also the lowest final round in PGA TOUR Champions history.

    It probably is, but you know that the tv production is faking impact sounds 60-70% of the time, when there mics don't get near enough. Especially when they are filming putts 30-40y across the green, but also on full shots.

    Played a round with Freddie 40 years ago at Jackson near Seattle and shot a respectable 77. Freddie had a 62 and missed a couple 10 footers. Quite the experience

    Was there today. The cup must have looked like it was the size of a basketball goal. He was amazing. So glad it was here in North Kackylacky that Fred will remember the round of his life....and thats saying something. Good on yea sir! Much to appreciate for a very long time.

    I'll say, this was a spellbinding performance by Fred. And he stands up tall and barely bends his knees when he swings, which I guess is why he makes it look so easy.

    After that par save from the collar any golfer knew it was “one of those rounds” and then the lucky bounces on consecutive approach shots on the back nine, which he birdied, just the icing on the cake. There’s something unexplainable about it, the golf gods give and the golf gods take. When they give, and you’re as good as Freddie - man is it amazing to watch

    Since I started watching golf Fred has always been my favorite golfer. He played together with Davis Love those days. After all these years he is still the best golfer in my mind. I don't wear a glove too.

    This guy Fred, yea, he was one of three guys that I watched a LOT when I first fell in love with this game. He is SOOOOOO SMOOTH when he is ZONING!! Im 59 and I started playing in 1985, with a layoff between 2005-2020. I admired Fred Couples, Greg Norman, and Raymond Floyd. Ive met Lee Trevino, Fuzzy Zoeller, Tom Kite, and played in a tournament on a nearby course newly designed by Davis Love III. Its Anderson Creek Golf Course near Ft Bragg NC.

    How fantastic was that! So happy for Fred I met Fred Couples way back in 1992. I had just started playing but even then I could see he had the most majestic swing in golf and from then on he was my favourite player. There was no such thing as selfies back in those days but I got his autograph and I have the memory of course.
