My heart skipped a beat. Both of my parents are in the audience and I have NO video of my Father who died just 2 years after this was taken. My Father was President of the area chamber of commerce and once hosted Fred at our resort there in Houghton Lake.

I hope it skipped it skipped in a good way! Which resort? I spent alot of time at Houghton Lake. Especially when we had the museum next to Coyle's. :)

During our time there the resort was called "Paul's Lake Front Resort" located on the south shore. I was about 11 years old when your dad stayed with us and I'm not sure but I believe my dad went fishing with him for the show. In its earlier years the resort was known as "Hamelin's Resort" and at that time the main house of the resort was the second oldest home on the lake. It had a boat house the was used for one of the first tug boats that was used to tow long lines of row boats around the lake. The resort is no longer there due to fire and economic decline.

When I visited the Fred Bear Museam in Florida many years ago with my daughters, I had the greatest privilege to be able to talk to the Director, Frank Scott, who ask me if I wanted to see something..... He took me and my family downstairs to a locked door and he turned to me and said ,” I normally don’t show this to people” and he opened the door and it was Fred Bears Personal Office.... He let me look at BluePrints and drawing of bows and some other equipment he had in there.... On his desk was little notes that were left by his grandchildren that said “ We miss you PaPa Bear” I will always remember this visit!!! Thanks Frank!! RIP...Thanks Fred” RIP.....

That is a very cool story. Sad that the Museum no longer exists.

I have bow he signed in 1982, he gave it to me...I went to the archery store and I was scared to speak with him. My hero.

Greatest Archer that ever lived my first bow was a bear bow I still shoot it today greatest Bow company ever

Ohh the stories this man could tell over a camp fire!!! I had a Fred bear recurve when I was about 13. I couldn't even pull it back but man I loved that thing. What an absolute legend!!! On the mount Rushmore of outdoorsmen, not just bow hunters.

Best ambassador for Bowhunting in history. An honorable, genuine man, great sense of humor too, Bowhunting especially traditional shooters attract a certain type of character.

I've only heard of Fred through Ted Nugent. Never expected Fred to be this funny. He hardly cracks a smile after telling jokes, he's a pro.

I once saw a 30lbs plus Musky jump out of the lake and swallow a little bull terrier puppy on Lake Nippising, (Calendar Bay) Ontario , Canada in 1972 that the people next to us took him out in the canoe and keep throwing him out in the water and letting him swim back. One big splash and it was over in a second. The fish looked right in my eye as he took his meal...........this is a true story. I cried all night long, but I ate a lot of fresh fish from that time on.

I once shot a deer behind the barn and that deer rolled all the way down the hill into the barn right below the hoist. Man that really made things easy. I mean most people have to drag their deer out of the woods.

It was the Early 1980's, Likely 1982 is when it Aired on Broadcast TV

I can't get much volume on this video, so I can't hear it. Too bad, I'd really like to hear it!

I did check and the audio is only on the Right Channel. I tried to see if I could do something via youtube and they don't have a way to convert it to mono. Unfortunately my time is very limited but if I am able to at some point I will try to fix it and upload it again. Sorry. :{
