FRECCIARGENTO FIRST CLASS REVIEW - New Pendolino (Venice to Rome)

Hello, and welcome back to another train trip report on my channel.
In this video I will be travelling on-board a Trenitalia FS ETR.600 from Venezia Santa Lucia to Roma Termini.
This high-speed tilting New Pendolino train is responsible for many of the important secondary routes connecting major Italian cities. It runs as the Frecciargento (Silver Arrow), and runs at up to 250km/h (155mph), with its classy interior and even an on-board bistro.
Enjoy the video. :)

Enjoyed the video - thanks. One of my favourite travel experiences is arriving in Venice by train (only beaten by arriving by speedboat). Venice Santa Lucia is one of my favourite stations too. The minimalist facade is so distinctive and it ia always a thrill to emerge from the station to a vista of the Grand Canal.

I remember taking the train from Venice to Rome in the very early aughties - it took me then nearly 7 hours to get to Termini, departing shortly after 4 pm, arriving shortly before 11. Most of journey we were just snaking our way down to Rome from Florence. And it took us just 2 hours to get to Florence from Venice. At the time, regional differences in Italy were stark. In the south, trains were excrutiatingly slow and unreliable. 4 hours now is great. Hope they can cut down on the travel time a bit more. 3 hours total travel time would be just awesome.

Great video and I quite agree about the poor ride quality of the Frecciargento. I once rode from Venezia SL to Bologna on the same route and apart from the train rattling manically the air con was broken and as it was a hot day the interior was like a sauna !!!

I would imagine the reason for the blinds kept in the down position is to keep out the sun/summer heat. On another note, when I travel between Milano Centrali and Roma Termini I prefer Frecciarossa Executive Class. Not cheap by any means but, IMHO, a great way to travel. Try it if you get the chance. 👍🏻

the reason for the blinds kept in the down position is because the cleaning staff cleans the blinds too, with a kind of liquid disinfectant that needs to dry, very important in pandemic time.
