"Franzese will get WHACKED!"

Ойын-сауық

It's because of your interest in hearing mob stories that we've grown so quickly. I'll continue to bring you fascinating stories from the world of organized crime, providing my unique perspective and insights, even if I wasn't personally present during those times. While the mob may have changed over the years, we'll focus on the intriguing stories without delving too much into its current state. However, I also believe it's important to discuss relevant social issues that resonate with all of you. In today's video, I'll address a question that I've been asked for the past 25 years: "Michael, how did you forgive yourself?" Join me as we explore this deeply personal and introspective topic.

Michael , I’m an Alcoholic and my name is Michael Edwards from Alabama . I have been listening to you for a long time and this is the single most Powerful thing I could’ve ever heard right now. I am so tired of battling this. I’ve been a Christian since June of 1992 but backslid way too far . I just want you to please pray for me because I want to be done and serve my lord Jesus. Thank you for these uplifting words!!

Why go to a hospital if god will save you then? Oh yeah, because he won't, doctors are better for that. And if he did save you, does that mean you are plain better than all the other people that have existed that were not saved? Btw, don't take this as confronting your belief, i have no issue with that, i kinda support religion. i'd just prefer you to thank the doctors that actually saved you, and also, to be thorough with your thought process.

Buddy, The Lord forgives but does he forgive the same sin twice? Maybe he wanted you to honor your code to the Mafia instead you betrayed him two times, which I doubt he finds cute. Honor the code as you would honor a religious right of passage or commitment. Why do you think they say you will burn in hell if you betray?

I don't mean to deny your statement, but I will tell you this, if one really gets to understand not cognitively but experientially what the concept of "God" is, not only will you come to understand that there's nothing to forgive. Either yourself or others. Religions have humanized God and given him human qualities like anger, jealousy, etc. God is nothing but pure love. A love so great that no human words can describe it.. And you don't have to go through any prophet like Jesus, Muhammad, Buddah, or any saint to get to him. All these prophets came to awaken us to the truth, but non is the only way to God. God is within you, he knows your heart more than you do, he puts you through struggles to lead you to the light, because it's very hard to think of God when your life is so comfortable. But when you're down and out, have tried everything and failed, that's usually even non believers turn to God as a last resort to save them. You don't have to be religious to go to heaven. It is the personal relationship you have with God that will lead you to heaven. And how do you have a personal relationship with him, by treating yourself and all other sentient beings with love. Feed the hungry, you'll be feeding God, help the poor, cultivate loving kindness through a particular method of meditation, take into your home those who have lost theirs, basically be loving, grateful and compaaionate, and whatever your other beliefs, God will always guide your path.

Keep it up, I wake up each morning asking my inner strength to make me a better human than I was yesterday. I came from a criminal family, there was no family just survival. They even turned on each other. I was the youngest in the family and escaped young. Too young to be in the world but the world taught me. Good thing I listened, I changed the direction of my life, raised my three children by myself with no help from their fathers. Worked my ass off to corporate level, I didn’t even graduate from high school, but I made it. My children are not criminals😢, they are responsible citizens which I don’t know how I got through this but I did. I think making that change from my roots was damn hard but in the long run going the wrong was harder.

Thanks Michael for many of the great topics and videos you’ve made. Everyone likes to judge the other man. Like you said until you’ve walked in that man’s shoes who are you to judge them. Everybody’s a tough guy until they are facing life in prison, then their tune changes. A real man realizes that the only thing that matters is their family and does what they need to, to protect them.

I had (emphasis on past tense) some strong resentments towards my father for various justifiable reasons. He recently passed and I'm so glad I had let go of those resentments years ago. I didn't say "I forgive you" out loud. I said it in my heart and it was a deep, cleansing breath for my soul. Trust me I'm the last guy to talk like that, but it's real and from the heart.

Coming from a past of drugs and crime I've done a lot of things I have to come to terms with, and it's not an easy thing to forgive oneself. I'm confident the Lord will continue to work on my heart. Appreciate the video. God bless.

Michael, really enjoy listening to you! I am thrilled that you will be bringing back Mob Movie Monday, and actually have a few requests: the two movies in mind are actually a little obscure, i.e. they are not necessarily categorized as mob / gangster movies, but feature elements of such. First one in mind is a comedy from the 90s - the Jerky Boys Movie! (remember those guys, they made funny prank call tapes around NYC?) That movie actually has some decent actors, such as Alan Arkin playing the mob boss, as well as Vincent Pastore, and even Ozzy Osborne! It's funny how the two Jerky Boys members prank the wrong people, ultimately getting in deep trouble with the mob. the other movie in mind is a new one that I actually just watched called The Outfit. Not sure if you've seen it but takes place during the 1950s in Chicago dealing with the Irish mob but also ties into the actual Outfit that Al Capone had started decades earlier, as well as a mob family called La Fontaine who were French speaking of African decent (not sure if they were a real or fictional crime family). Great movie with twists! Anyway, curious what you think...
