Tom Wilkinson did an excellent job in John Adams. Michael Douglas is more closer in age to the real Franklin during 1776 time frame. Franklin was 70 when he went to France. Douglas is 79. Tom Wilkinson was about 60 in John Adams.

Wilkinson really did, he was wonderful! Douglas may have been more effective if he changed his voice a bit or maybe just if he wasn't as well known. Thanks for watching, and for the info!

John Adams was 7 episodes, 1 hour each. I loved that mini-series And i love Franklin. I agree Michael Douglas does not look exactly like Ben Franklin but he does a great job with the part. I dont care much for temple Franklin! (Noah Jupe)

Glad to hear your thoughts, thanks for watching! Thanks for the clarification on John Adams, I never had HBO until streaming was a thing so I only really knew how long John Adams was in total, not by episode count. Rare they did it that way in that era!

@@DanReviewsIt yes you’re right because it was long before streaming content online through streaming apps became a reality. I actually bought the John Adam’s series on DVD because by the time John Adam’s was aired, I no longer had access to premium cable. Keep up the good work

As soon as I saw that Douglas was playing Franklin I thought it was a miscasting. Interesting that you think the same, after watching it. I don't think I will watch this. Thank for the review.

Oh that's so funny! Yeah I really like Michael Douglas' work but I really don't think he was the right choice here. I probably graded it a little generously too... after I recorded it, I was thinking B- is probably more accurate, but such is life haha

Michael Douglas is definitely miscast in this role. I found Douglas’ portrayal a big distraction for me and really detracted from series.
