He was the leader America needed during the world’s darkest hour. My grandfather idolized him growing up. He used to tell me stories about him. He gave incredible speeches, and he definitely understood how American politics work. He was undeniably one of the greatest American presidents in history.

Because he was. He passed the NFA - the first amendment regulating/restricting our second amendment rights, he had Japanese & Asian Americans arrested and detained without an investigation, interrogation, right to an attorney or due process (a constitutional violation) all because of them existing during the wrong time, and he created the welfare state we're currently in now by rewarding freeloaders (basically bribing them into becoming government dependent voters), while deducting the money required for this COMMUNIST idea from the working class's paycheck. Actually there is a reason why FDR came up with the Japanese interment during the WW2, the reasons is because FDR at that time was paranoid if the Japanese came to US as spies.
