#Frankingston

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Finally back on the 6 4. We busted out all of the bodywork and got the frankingston in a thick coat of 2k primer! Done a little por15 on the inside to seal it up and make sure nothing ever comes back! Next on this project we will hopefully be starting the frame so we can get this thing back on its wheels soon! Stay tuned. Thanks for watching. Like, share, subscribe.

    Looking good. I’m considering doing quarter panels. Seems like it would turn out better than patching rust and allow a person to take care of underlying rust issues like you did. Great job.

    Nice!!! Forgive my ignorance but looked like there was some rust left on the hard top. Could you briefly touch base on that?

  • @bpbrestorations2093

    Only surface rust, sand blasted with spot blaster and there was nothing thru. Then we use rust encapsulater, epoxy primer, body filler, surface primer, then paint. To make sure there will be no issues to come.

    If I have a 1962 convertible Impala, with rusting floors, would you avoid putting it on a rotisserie? Would you replace the floors, keeping it on the frame?

  • @bpbrestorations2093

    @bpbrestorations2093

    I would build a frame out of box tubing inside the car and weld it all up then put it on rotisserie and when I'm all done I would cut the box tubing frame back out and reuse it on another. If you can't do that then yes I would avoid lifting it.

    @@bpbrestorations2093 When you say building a frame inside the car, do you mean bracing the car? The way I see builders put X bracing inside the car?

    I’m doing a 65 impala. The quarters and trunk drop offs. I’m having a hard time finding the trunk drops to match my quarters. I bought a pair from classic industries but they are not the right shape around the bottom rear of the quarter. Any ideas where I may find different ones then those at classic industries?
