He's miming to a digitally enhanced (autotuned, etc.) performance vocal track... The mic has a thumb switch to allow him to chat live to the audience. The band is live though - they play to a click track to keep it all synced.

It’s sad to watch but I’ve always loved his music so I will sit back, listen and when I listen real hard I hear Frankie,1963 + and he sounds wonderful. God Bless Him and the original 4 Seasons ❤

What a guy Frankie Valli is. Still bringing the heat at 90 years old!!! Most of the grandpa's and grannies hating in the comments couldn't stand up for more than 45 seconds without feeling like their time has come. Bummed I couldn't be in Niagara even though it's just an hour away. Much love from a 20 yr old Nigerian dude who has absolutely zero business listening to Frankie Valley

Not hating at all. But as a past performer, myself, one has to realize at some point, to retire gracefully. The 4Seasons are one of my favorite groups, but they are better remembered for their large body of work 25 years ago! 😍

Thank you for posting this wonderful concert. I'm from New Jersey and the Four Seasons are my all-time favorite group from my home state. It is so wonderful that Frankie is still performing these concerts and sharing this fantastic music with his fans. Frankie is a national treasure and I will always be a fan. Unfortunately, for every Frankie Valli concert video, there are always lip sync trolls that pollute the comments section (sadly, the comments section has been overrun with these horrible people just as I predicted). If any of those lip sync trolls have the disgusting audacity to reply to me, their posts will be deleted by me. Frankie deserves respect for the legend that he is and yet these despicable people do the opposite. They won't get away with it on my watch. Frankie is the best. Unfortunately, one of those nasty, disrespectful, lip-sync trolls (Tom Hoffner) decided to ignore my warning and reply to me even though I made it clear that I never want to directly have any dialogue with someone who disrespects Frankie. This is what internet trolls, like Tom Hoffner do, and it happens every time I post how much I love these Frankie Valli concert videos. Really disgusting behavior on their part and it should never be tolerated. However, I did execute a delete and repeat (as I promised) which got rid of his unwanted, unwelcome replies and re-typed my original enjoyment of the concert video. I'm so glad KZread has this option so you can deal with internet trolls, like Tom Hoffner, in a justified manner where they don't get away with bothering someone. My advice to anyone who downloads these terrific Frankie Valli concerts on their KZread channel is to turn off the comments section. That way you don't give those disgustingly obnoxious lip-sync trolls such as Tom Hoffner a platform to spew their garbage. Real Frankie Valli fans like me are offended and nauseated by their atrocious, disrespectful attacks on Frankie and I speak for the majority. Real Frankie Valli fans, thank you for the up-votes. Your support is very much appreciated. It's a shame that when I did a repeat and delete to remove Tom Hoffner's disrespectful, attacking reply, it also removed Silent Knight's honest and great reply. Silent Knight's was the truth and worth reading while lip-sync trolls like Tom Hoffner are not and have nothing constructive to say or add to a conversation. Thankfully, I receive KZread reply alerts on my e-mail so I do have a copy of Silent Knight's post. Here it is: "I just saw Frankie here in Richmond VA and I was watching his phrasing the whole time. I actually STARED at him to see what I could see. If those trolls actually WATCH him, they'd see that they are either FOS or Frankie is the greatest lip-sync artist in history. Because every single thing I heard him sing matched perfectly with his mouth. I didn't see one word of variation between the two. NOT ONE! Now I won't deny that they may have used technology to BOOST his voice because there is no way a 90-year-old man is going to sing with the power of a 30 year old. Initially, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to see Frankie at Radio City back in March. But, after seeing this performance, I don't feel as bad. Still, it would've been nice just to see the originator of those great songs, live on stage. Getting old really SUCKS!

I have no clue how old you are, but if you are in your 50's or really any age, start taking care of yourself, and seriously start changing your diet , why, because Process foods , soda , just about anything , will make a person sick and cause you to have a lot of health issues . Everything I just said , is No Joke. I have noticed people getting sick at any age . As an "RN" and this is what all I have noticed in the last 4 years . I changed my diet 16 years ago , I no longer eat any Process foods, don't drink soda , etccccc.

It will be 28 years ago on the 25th that my father passed at 67 and currently one of my three older brothers (he's her P.O.A.) and I are in our seventh year of caring for our 92 year old mother with lewy body dementia…… though I saw signs three years before. I'm not sure how much more I can take of it. She's oblivious to her surroundings and is completely immobile. And now my health has been impacted like it's never been before. And my two oldest brothers, her "favorites", NEVER visit to help or relieve us. One lives LESS than two miles away and does absolutely NOTHING. I refuse to speak to him. And the thirteen caregivers that we went through prior to the pandemic were complete incompetents. So, when I wrote "Getting old really SUCKS!"…… I know from first hand experience. I've always remembered the bit of wisdom that my almost 99 year old grandmother would tell me before she died in 2001: "Don't get old".

When Frankie speaks between songs, he holds the mic in front of his mouth and his lips clearly enunciate the words. When he "sings", he holds the mic in front of his chest and his lips barely move.

Amazing Franki Valli..!

If you listen to other concerts on youtube (one is from 1982), he lost his ability to deliver an in-tune falsetto while singing live years ago. It appears in recent concerts, he’s been singing some in a lower key, live (which is obvious, his voice reflects the age) then some lip-synching to “later years” recordings, which are autotuned. I don’t really care either way, saw him in 2017 and 2021 and enjoyed both concerts immensely. The backup band and singers are always great, always have been.

Frankie Valli -a legend-I get it. But he needs to call it a day. The only thing great about his performance is the terrific band he has put together and the backup “Four Seasons.” Frankie doesn’t get his microphone up in time to lip sync, and when he does the words are often wrong. He occasionally sings and that’s it . I saw Frankie in 1977, 2017 and 2021. Those are great memories to treasure always.

My husband and I were at this concert and we had the same thoughts about him lip syncing. He could hardly talk, lift the mic or move his arms to the beat of the music. I grew up listening to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and if I am to be honest I was saddened by what I saw. I understand that Mr Valli probably loves performing and finds it difficult to stop but I think it's time to call it a day. Unfortunately the last memory I have of that incredibly talented man is not a good one. I thank you for sharing your talents with us through the 60's and 70's but I think at 90 it's time to call it a day and enjoy what you have worked so hard for ❤

It's worth mentioning that Helicon and half&half are undeniably four seasons album. do most of you even have knowledge on the bands work after the dispute with Tommy Devito? I'm surprised that you guys are not aware of Gerry Polci singing on helicon or other four season members like Joe Long, Charles Calello, John Pavia . @kaijuclash54 is correct those are 100% four seasons albums with the exception of baby I need your loving. Although Frankie did cover that song in his solo album Inside you. Which I believe is what he was referring to.

I love Frankie Valle' and the Four Seasons, legendary music of our childhoods and music which defined the 60s, 70s and early 80s. Yet I'm conflicted with this backing-track, lip-synced shamble of a wanton live concert. Unlike a miscreant of a current US President, Frankie Valle' deserves to go-out on top. It's time to let it be.

@@Clodhopping I believe the 4 seasons are actually singing. I did notice when he asks the audience to sing along, it's a prerecorded track of the audience singing.

Unfortunately, the lip synching is much more obvious now because he at least used to sing along to his prerecorded voice. Now, he doesn’t even do that.

I saw this show last week and sat on the 2nd row. He is lip syncing most of the time. Sometimes his lips weren't moving at all. When he first came on the stage he looked frail and eyes were glazed over. He loosened up a bit as show went on. All in all it was a fantastic show. Glad I was able to see it

Almost certain that the vocal tracks are from his later years but heavily digitally processed. E.g. he could sing low when making the track and the software will make it a falsetto. That's why the high notes sound so synthetic.

May be really singing “can’t take my eyes off of you”. The only song he holds the mic up close to his lips. But a nice job.

This is what it's come to! As favorite performers aged, it was still a joy to see them on stage - like Jerry Lee and Little Richard. But this is over the line! Frankie, stop! You were great, but its time. Aren't you embarrassed to present this to your fans...and make them pay up! Did you squander all those royalties. I've never seen anything like this!

I mean as long as he can physically still perform I think he can keep on performing for a while longer! I mean the late Tony Bennett only retired because he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease which prevented him from continuing any further!

He’s been lip syncing since I saw him in at Fallsview Niagara Falls in 2014. Pack it in old man.

Johnny Mathis is in incredible shape. He stands and moves thruout his performance and his voice is still wonderful. ❤️

He is a Legend....if he's singing here...for 90...he sounds incredible...probably needs to shut it down soon. But you got to hand it to him

He is singing like Elvis does in the movies..poor guy.

Since I wasn’t born in that era, the only details I know about his life are from the Jersey Boys broadway musical and the 2014 movie version of the musical. And this is a serious question from what I’ve learned in the dramatized story…but does anyone know if the reason he’s still doing these concerts to the point where he’s only lip-syncing from old age, is because he’s still paying off Tommy’s debt with the mob? I mean…it’s farfetched but I can’t think of another reason besides him being strong-armed into performing even at 90 years old with all that…

I wish they could get a choreographer that could replace those corny moves by the backup singers. It's childish

Love the songs but Frankie looks like Christopher Walken doing Joe Biden

Now I know what it's like to watch a singing mannequin. This is very much like the boxer - or any athlete for that matter - who wants to keep going although their skills have diminished to the point that it's painful to watch. Frankie Valli obviously has a tremendous body of work, but to keep going back to that well long after the skills are no longer there is nothing more than sad. Oh and as for the lip sync deniers, get a clue, I know a bit about singing, and there's no way he's singing those songs live. The lip movement, facial expressions and overall energy doesn't match the sound coming out of the speakers. Nice try though.
