Lovely concerto, although I don't share the somehow excessive enthusiasm of a few comments I read herewith. To name one, Hummel wrote much worthy pieces in that period, not to forget Field and others. However there are selected gems in this half an hour music, especially the opening of Rondo, unconventional and extremely well written, selected moments of Adagio and the "Rossinian" closure of Allegro with a convincing genuine "crescendo" that redeems a quite conventional "donata form" first movement.

Interesting, right from the orchestral exhibition, which reminded me of certain compositions of Italian origin, namely Rossini. Possibly a coincidence. Too bad that the sound of the pianoforte inhibits a slightly more "modern" hearing. Lessel was Haydn's pupil.
