She was such a great actress. Never got recognition. Never got an award. I think it's disgraceful for the academy to just dismiss people like her she was. I felt like I knew her. I've seen her for so long and she was just a natural for acting. It's just sad that she had a life that wasn't happy and too bad she did end her life.❤

Perhaps, I have it wrong, but I believe Aunt Bea (not Bee as the artificial narrator mentions), is short for Beatrice, which I think was her full first name in The Andy Griffith Show. I also had an Aunt Bea (Beatrice).

I miss her so very much, but I was born in 1961. She was a terrific role model and now that I am a proud grandma, I have so many memories of her relationship with Lil Opie and her " son" Andy. Her domestic presence in the Mayberry community was stellar TV. 😊

She was a fantastic actress, I heard she was ornery on Andy Griffin, but if health was an issue, I can understand and relate.

It appears that almost everyone on the set had difficulties with Andy Griffin. Ron Howard, who played Opie also had a very negative relationship. Somewhere in history i remember maybe Andy had a drinking issue. And Andy also had an issue with Gomer being gay in his real personal life. Best i remember Andy Griffin just had a controlling issue just not with the show, but including other actors and actress personal life. He wasn't the easy go guy as his character he played was.

Thank you so much for this video. Because I was a devoted fan of ant. E and still am, I loved her as if she were my own aunt. Or mother and personally, I believe in my opinion, that she was the number one star of that show. I did not like the personality of Andy Griffith at all and personally, I did not believe he was a good actor at and I would imagine that he himself would not be easy to get along. I love the all the character. On the show and I still to this day, watched every single day at least a couple episodes, especially those with her in❤
