And that's the problem with homophobia, aside from being nonsensical, as it's used in the manner where it makes no distinction between ordinary aversion and extreme, irrational aversion. And just for kicks, look up the symptoms for severe arachnophobia, or agoraphobia, and then find scientific evidence of people expressing those same symptoms in relation to homosexuals or the obese. If they do exist, does their pathology suggest more than the equivalent of "ew gross"?

Therefore, going against their religion in their own home soil would certainly be seen not only as discrimination but also as heresy. Like if you want homosexuality to be illegal, you have to realise that that is one of most political statements you can make. Not wearing it in Qatar isn't "nOt GeTtInG iNvOlVeD iN pOlItIcS" but a clear statement that is incompatible with western culture and freedom. Qatars treatment of LGBTQ is a human rights violation btw.
