Besides being score by a not even 20 year old player in a WC final, what makes Mbappe's goal genius is that no one could have expected him to shoot on Subasic's right side. Noticing Vida anticipating a rolled shot on the open side (left side of Subasic) just makes it hard to blame him and Subasic for it.

Because Croatia didn't have the class for a World Cup final, they just had easy opponents on their way there (Denmark,Russia, England)there were better countries out there ( Uruguay,Brazil, Belgium,France). The real final was France-Belgium ,the best teams of the tournament.

Croatia was a B player that France dominated when they managed to set their tactic (by subbing Nzonzi in place of an ill Kanté for instance, which restrained Modric and Rakitic's area of play). If you watch the game again, Croatia is on its knees at 3-1, and what I'll say can sound crazy but the way Croatia felt out of place after the third goal makes me think that the final could easily have ended up 5-1 or 6-1 had Lloris didn't mess up and required the French team to take less risks. Compare this to France-Belgium, which was nerve-racking, tense and all-around a battle of two evenly matched giants.

Croatia could win it but the luck was with France with 2 free goals and both mbappes and pogbas shot given for free bc the keeper was injured. Also Gvardiol was injured in 22 wc and still is. Croatia plays in the semi final of the leauge of nations and now their best defender isnt with them. The luck was never on their side.

i just with the final wasnt so one sided. it was entertaining but also u already knew who won. it was france. so if it was somehow 2-2 in the end, that would be intense. and both teams would be ramping it up. but that wasnt and probably wouldnt have been the case anyways even if those goals didnt happen.

I think you're reading too much into that. Croatia's path to the final was rocky. They had 3 ETs, including 2 PSOs. Also, they had to come from behind every single time. Saying that they made it to the final "by the skin of their teeth" is not at all wrong.

One of very few entertaining world cup final matches in history.

I think that's unfair because FR attackers used HR defenders to hide themselves, and they also gave fake signals about the direction of the shot so they didn't everything to confuse the keeper for the last 2 goals. I think no one would have stopped those shots.

Who else kinda feels bad for France? They lost heartbreaking finals in 2006 and 2016 in dramatic fashion, and when their time finally came, the whole world only wanted to see the opposing team and they won in a very anticlimactic final. If I were French, I would gladly take the 2006 world cup over this one and possibly even the Euro 2016.

scored an epic goal with a nice finish from croatia's beautiful gameplay starting with modric's nice pass with the free kick. but then he ruined it with a careless handball at a griezmann corner kick. shoulda seen where his hands were. cooulda easily knocked the ball away for another corner kick or just knock it the other way.
