We just framed our ADU in West LA. This was once a 300 sq ft garage. It was converted, with an addition, to a 600 sq ft ADU.
The ADU will be a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom accessory dwelling unit. The ADU kitchen will have full-size appliances and plenty of space. The ADU will have a custom 8x8 bathroom because our client asked that the ADU be wheel-chair accessible.
This is a ADU is a Garage Conversion with an Addition. Because it has an addition we have to build 4 feet from the setback. We used this extra space to add our AC unit, water heater and electrical panel. I always recommend designing your ADU with intention to save space. This is one way we saved space for our ADU.
