my hat down sir, my hat down.. I feel humbled after watching this. I mean I thought I made a step forward with my long distance flight, but this is (now) what I considered to be a real long distance.rc.

If you can’t visit the next town then the radio isn’t strong enough lol
1,2G video is complete magic
lots of people worried about hitting airplane, from video i have seen max height about 2km comercial planes fly in 10km so good luck hitting something big.. separation is 600m so 600m out of ground should be nothing that is not landing at airport, 1200 and more are climbing altitudes which plane go to upon start in few minutes, hence no fly zone near airports for RC. if he knew where he was flying it was prety safe..

If you fly in a rural location its pretty easy to avoid that problem. Idiots in the city who fly near airports are the ones causing issues.

Most light aircraft in UK are between 1500 and 2500 ft, right where the more ambitious fly models...as I say, I have a big foot in both camps!!! And yes, full size aircraft have passed beneath my models... very embarrassing, being unable to move away quickly. FPV has even greater limitations for situational awareness, with restricted field of view. Gliders are found at or below cloud base height, usually.... so if that is your view on the screen, expect big white object to appear. Most air traffic happens between airports, when you think about it long enough...

Flying anywhere around a major city will put you into controlled airspace….and airports….for instance in Pittsburgh you're limited to less than 700 ft.

I am amazed to see how people do liked this video. Usually this kind of videos are edited because it is accepted that "long flight videos are boring". The statistics do show another part of the history, somehow people watched this a lot more than the edited version.
BEST LONG RANGE EVER, YOU ARE THE BEST
Great flight Looks like you have itdown solid probably one of the best flights i've seen
Great video, great technical demonstration. Good work :)
Great setup. 50 miles is just crazy. Congrats on the success.
Well done mate! Truly inspirational
That's really cool. Thanks for sharing.
This was truly a thing of beauty; intelligence and grace. I've never had a remote controlled aircraft but this inspires me to attempt a much modest version of it....I watched all three hours and loved it....Thank you for sharing the fruits of your hard work and investment...
A perfect flight. Thank you for sharing this.
Love the inquisitive horse at the end!
Probably the coolest fpv out there, respect and thumbs up :)
Sweet flight! Nicely done!
It is a truly amazing video! Many thanks for uploading the whole three hours. Congratulations, of course.
You are crazy.. AWESOME video love it..Ty again...
My deep compliments to you, not adding silly music as many others do !
the reaction of the horses was hilarious. thanks for the vid.
Nice flight ! might go back to fixed wing models after watching this.
Thanks for this. Lots of real info.
Horses at the end : WTF , aliens incoming?!
Although I share the concerns in regards to danger, this was a beautiful flight. Congratulations and great work!
Incredible flight. Well done.
Wow Aleuli73, that was simply amazing! Congratulations on the success of your flight!! I must say, your landing kinda showed that you were fighting to land the plane.... looked like it didn't want to come down.
Woaw... amazing, very good job !
This is so cool, and so long!
Cool FOV I like the horses at the end!
Epic - thanks for sharing. Even though I already watched the edited version, I was still sitting on the edge of my chair to see if you made it back ;-)
amazing achievement. Well done.
Sweet Alex, very innovative
The HUD looks so cool!
Kudos to you for accomplishing this... excellent video... also a good motivation to all of us to do the same..
Wow, nice job!
Excelente video Alejandro!
THanks for the details.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
that was cool pilot info was great
Awesome! When I take the coordinates from your film to Google Earth, I can easy follow your flight. Very funny.
love the horse looking at the plane at the end
Impressive! Congratulations!
WOW. That landing, what a perfect framing :)
Wow, that's incredible! The solar cells seem to be able to regenerate almost all the energy it uses. Very nice.
This is encouraging me to get away from multirotors and do winged stuff. Really fun.
xD Epic Landing, Sir!
Many many congratulations for such a great achievement ! I was considering to go for a 4 stroke petrol engine for long endurance but after seeing your true achievement, I am amazed and have forgotten about the petrol engine based long endurance airframe setup. 4X 3S, 5000mAh lipos have given enough capacity, close to 100%. Your flying wing is quite amazing, you said very correctly that it seems to have been crying for solar cells.
Great job!!
Шедевральный полёт! Гораздо интереснее, чем футбол.
WWOW! That's amazing! Great job!
Oh I forgot to congratulate you on the longest and highest quality glitch-free FPV sequence that I have had the pleasure of viewing. Absolutely terrific work sir. I can only strive to produce a fraction of this duration in my 1st year if that. And I live eat and breathe the hobby. This has become the benchmark, that is for sure, many happy returns lad!
Nice flight!
very very good. thanks for sharing
Amazing stuff! The horses at the end were like WTF???
Great Job!
I just saw the link with the mentioned Setup. As it looks, it works perfect. best regards
Wow that's nutty! Way to go....
Damn I would have never thought 2.4GHz WiFi even at 2watts with a Yagi would be this reliable! Very impressive!
Very nice!
epic final image!
Impressive effort. I skipped a few bits (!) but liked the horses at the end...
You can see two white small lines at the center of the image. One of those indicate the direction of the pilot! Long distance models are motogliders and they use motor only for altitude gain. Servo movements also are minimal with gliders. Also the transmiter module is external with external directional antenna. Likewise the video transmitter. Pilot use his monitor gogles and pilot his model. The only really difficult thing, is to have money to spare for the equipment!
awsome man :)
I would really like to see links to the hardware for TX and RX and perhaps the FRsky too. Or perhaps a separate video on the hardware. Fantastic by the way :)
This a really cool video...take it to the next step and double or triple time it with some crazy music
Very beautiful!!!
wow this video is the best documentation of an FPV flight I love it.It must have taken you one week to upload this video?Good job i can only wish for an FPV set up like this.Peace Luis
I don't have the capabilities not the knowledge to do this, therefore you are a liar and this didn't happen. lol you ever feel like that is the argument you are going up against sometimes? amazing flight, mad respect!!! Your batteries alone cost more than my entire plane hahahaha. I use Frsky too, although I'm only pulling about 300 yards before it goes into failsafe due to interference from 900mhz video signal. I'm going to switch it up to 1.2 or 5.8 and see if that helps. Thanks for posting all of your info you've gave me a good idea of what I can use that will be compatible!!!! I wont be pulling anything of this caliber in the near future, but you've inspired me for sure!!!! Great flight!!!
Outstanding.
Temperature sensor is located on the autopilot-OSD board. It is heated by the regulators and microcontrollers. The board is located inside a pocket foam on the wing, Surrounded by foam and with a cover of carbon fiber.
Very Very Good!!!
dayum! what a landing man!
dang... that 2w wifi booster does the trick for RC link haha
love the horses at the end
i watched this while afk in eve online, the music fits this video very nicely. :)
Amazing stuff. I would love to pick your brains (not literally) on your solar setup. It would be great if you get the chance to do a walkthrough video on your plane setup. All the best ;)
awesome flight mate great view from above i would have liked to see the plane you used and the size but awesome vid anyway mate cheers
Impressive !!!
сколько же это все стоит??))) Dear author, if not a secret, how much did you pay for the kit? Thanks!)
I see a lot of folks complaining about flying in these altitudes, so I thought I'd mention some tips as it can be done safely. I'm a full size pilot along with being an FPV pilot. I use a transponder locator along with charts for my areas squawk codes & it gives me the location of all planes close to me. They can be bought for around $500.00 US.
nice mate! amazing what is available to the general public now in this hobby! 82 people who watched this video are jealous lol
The secret of getting long video transmission range is having a tuned antenna on the vTx. Anything from 500mW will give you more than 5km. Then the gain of the vRx antenna will give you the extra range.
haha, Nice landing!!!
Love the horses at the end... Like, WTF!? :-)
well done as a fpv flyer myself it must have been a brown bum time with that range of flight
very nice sound
Aleuli, thank`s for this amazing doucumentation. What type of MPPT did you use? which manufacturer? How did you design the PV system to be so compact and efficient?
Hardware is just a minor part comparing to the "GUTS"..... Well done!
Great Video Fantastic flight.I'm getting into more FPV this year and hope I can do as well but 80 KM ???Far Out!!!
toller Flug war echt klasse hochachtung da steckt eine Menge Arbeit in diesem Project.. hab bei Google earth nachgeschaut wo Du fliegst.. Gruß ..
Temperature shows how much heat is on the autopilot board, numeric compass value gives greater accuracy for heading, G-load indicator helps keeping the wing flex low enough so the solar cells are not destroyed, artificial horizon indicator is a must when you fly inside the clouds. And ground speed is one of the most useful readings here, you want to know if you can actually reach the target before batteries run out. And yes you can get an estimate of airspeed by comparing successive readings.
You are f**cking amazing I've always wanted to do that!!! I though 6 miles on a quad was far...
Using 2.4GHz!!!! AMAZING! Iv'e never seen anything close without a UHF LRS!
Tell em man, I agree completely. Ol' JB is a fool for that remark.
Damn. Serious fpv!
very good
super cool
Gratulálok!!!
Bonito Santo Domingo.... buen video..
