Tied a variation of this because I didn’t have all the materials. Got a nice legal halibut fishing the surf in San Diego with it! Great pattern dude!

It is arctic fox before the brush and the brush was EP Senyo's Chromatic Bush
Do you trim the brush to taper the head?

Nor on this one. I am using 3" brush and it creates a great natural taper to the fly.

What size is the brush 1.5"?
Do you not brush out the under fur on the fox?
