The nice thing for Texas is that Arch just turned 19, meaning there isn't any particular rush to get him to the NFL. He could start in '25 and if he doesn't look like a number 1 pick then they still get him starting in '26 and he still goes to the NFL at just 22 years old in '27. It's really a great situation for everyone, including Arch.

The Mannings are smart enough to know the long game for Arch and honest about where he is skill-wise now. Just be a good teammate and be ready for your moment. Everything else is noise.

I would say unless he decides to jump in (which looks incredibly unlikely) then yes, the answer to your question is that he is content to stay around, develop and get ready to start for Texas the season after next. He also might be needed this year if Ewers gets hurt.

WIth NIL there is no reason to rush. He can take his time and develop. The long term goal is to be a successful NFL QB. Rushing him into the role may hinder that more than help. In three years (1 more year as a back up and 2 starting), he'll most likely be the #1 pick and be in a position to be storming out of the gate.
