I cut and mounted an electrical access door (Lowes) in the fenderwell plastic. You're definitely going to want some sort of access to the starter solenoid.

I know this is a old video but that engine bay looks awesome dude, the paint just glows,I'm assuming after 3 years this thing is running nice? these are great cars,Ive had a few, this may sound hard to believe but i have a 91 vert GT Ive been driving since 96!! lol as a daily driver for the most part, I'm going to retire it soon and start doing some restoration, its in pretty good shape, i have some rust in the rear quarter from a bad repair years ago and someone rear ended me about 6 months ago so i need to take care of that too, the rest is in perfect shape,id like to do something with that nest of wires but something a lot more subdued, i dont want to relocate my solenoid, ill definitely take the best from every info i get, thank you for the video

Hi Donny I have an 87 notchback, like you, I ran the main harness, thru that same hole, since we don't have a hole in the strut housing . However, I mounted the solenoid on the INSIDE , of the engine compartment, and ran the wires to and from OUTSIDE., ( In the inner fenderwell.) I may have lengthened a couple wires Not sure it was a couple yrs ago. Then you still have access to the solenoid easily. I hid all the engine harness in the wiper housing area and just ran the engine harness out in 2 sections . Each one down the valley between each valve cover/intake manifold. If this helps anybody. Really cleans up the engine compartment , and engine - A lot! Beautiful car BTW :)

Hi There, awesome video! I am actually doing the same thing on my 89. I am wondering how are you running your battery cables and starter cable?

Thanks for the video. I'm in the process of smoothing my engine bay and I already tucked most of my wires. I have an 88 coupe and I have two holes on each strut tower so It must be an 87' thing where there is only one on the driver side. What are you doing for your engine? You have a good clean car so far, keep up the good work!

Use a lot of tape were it sits on the body coming thru the hole the loom it. I did the same MOD and after one year it still rubbed thru the wind shakes the wire and my ground burned in half and nearly caught car on fire I went back thru it and found rubber grommets to go in the hole it's been seven years no problems.

nice my man, do think the wires in the fender area would get damaged by road abrasion?

Hey how did you relocate your wiperfluid tank? It looks like a little pod? Does it have a pump and how do you refill that thing? In the middle of this, and that thing is cool

MrIlovebmw86 You should try reading some of the comments prior to posting questions because most of the time those same questions have already been asked, multiple times. Not trying to be an ass, just blunt.

it's prolly inefficient tucking the wires like that on big runs; you know Ford, and others, are trying to do this on the cheap. plus, like you mentioned, the serviceability would be difficult.

great presentation...fatally flawed fender placement for the IGNITION SOLENOID. IOW, I can probably bump your driver's side fender and start your car, or granny can hit u in the Walmart parking lot and arc your whole pony to hell creating a very scary situation of liability if you do not edit this video. I am a FORD man. Do not shame us brother. Everything else looks and seems well thought out and executed with great care. God Speed
