I randomally discovered Four Tet today. ...life suddenly feels slightly more complete than yesterday
what a fantastic album, this guy is so underrated. hes up there with aphex twin, luke vibert, boards of canada and squarepusher imo.

I only know of Four Tet because of appearances on remix albums by at least one of the artists you listed. Which is also how I originally heard of Aphex Twin in 1996 (he appeared on a Nine Inch Nails remix album). Getting on a more famous artist's remix album is the best exposure you can get in the electronic music world.

...? always gotta be at least one to pull out the 'aphex twin/squarepusher' card the second they hear experimental beats .... four tet has nothing to do with these artists lol

Definitely not.. but he is in the chasing pack. Tbh honest Four Tet doesn't really sound like anyone else he is in his own lane
I almost always seem to like these first albums best when it comes to experimental artists such as Four Tet. They are so free and full of hope!
Four Tet music makes my brain work better.
I would never have thought this was his first. Much more complex and experimental sounding that pause and rounds. I like this better.
This album reminds me so much of Tortoise' TNT in a good way. The two album complement each other. Funnily enough, the same year as well.
In the beginning I was kinda debating whether or not to continue to listen, but I'm glad I gave this a chance, as this is actually pretty amazing!
Love his music never heard these tracks before cheers
Never listened to this before! And I know it sounds stupid, but this sounds so perfectly Four Tet-ish. Loads of the elements that I like in his music. Good and choppy but with that organic groove wiggling it's way around and about.
ух, Calamine, пробирает до мурашек, очешуительно, спустя столько лет поисков, наконец-то я нашёл этот трек..
Ein wirklich sehr schönes Album - von A - Z !!! THX !
He mixed this in his living room on cheap hi-fi speakers.
Love this music. Four Tet is the best :)
Incredible stuff
Masterful
1999 ! damn I could tell this was from ten years later
I had the Hamlet (2000) OST as a teenager and always wondered if it was the same four tet who is on it as the artist who is big now. Finally I have figured out this question. Amazing movie soundtrack with "calamine" on it and a wonderful album right here. And noooow the nostalgia sets in.

it was a great soundtrack. I did first listen to Fourtet the first time through that one, but realize it until years later.
