A Terv! I loved seeing the addition of the hat and the owner's comment "and he didn't growl"

I've had to temporarily pause the show world due to my dad being ill and I can't travel. However, I've been fostering shelter animals that are due to be euthanized. I've followed Eric's techniques with mostly pit bull mixes (all that have a history of biting people). I'm nervous around them but I just focus on these skills and no eye contact. Thank you for this info and the videos, from show dogs and shelter dogs alike!

Are you intentionally picking those dogs? And what is the end goal?

Thank you so much Eric, while I sadly can’t attend your workshops due do living Across the ocean, your videos are such a big help to a beginner in the show world. Can I ask your advice on how to keep a puppy from sitting on the table / in the ring? I have a longhair miniature dachshund who is 5 months old. He knows how to stand and will stand for a treat on command but as soon as he gets the treat Or decides he is done training, he sits or just goes limp. So for the free stack we do okay with “Command - yes! - pause - treat - repeat” and he is beautiful but on the table as he is confident with anyone touching him; He just relaxes or sits, or recently rolled Completely over into the judges palm as they were running their hands down his back, and just wagged Happily on his back and refused to stand back up. The feedback from his judges so far has been that he has beautiful conformity, and has a great shot at a future in showing, But he still acts like a baby puppy when he is about to age into minor puppy (5 months old) and his easy going ‘Floppiness’ while cute isn’t appropriate for the ring. Im at a loss of what to do here. I’ve tried all my usual methods and it’s not like he is doing anything wrong, but Showing him can be a but daunting as once he decides he is done, he is done. I’ve made training exciting and fun, used different toys and treats, praise, you name it. We have even incorporated a stacking box which he will jump up onto and stand for a treat Until - you guessed it- perching on it like gargoyle, once he is done standing. Any advice would be appreciated!!
