How to SHOW your dog vs 'Just Stacking' Your Dog

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Knowing how to stack your dog is ESSENTIAL for the show ring. But a lot of stacking we see in the ring accomplishes only that - your dog is stacked, but they aren’t being SHOWN. There is nothing standing out about your dog on the stack. Today Allison teaches you the difference between just stacking your dog versus how to properly hold the head and tail, how to create tension, and how to get the correct outline to show off when stacking.

I am a relatively experienced owner handler and have finished several champions in different breeds. However, I find your videos to be extremely beneficial and informative! Your willingness to share the professional handler's "secrets" are much appreciated. You do a superb job and both explaining and demonstrating the various levels of finesse in the ring.

Going to our first “big girl” show this weekend! Thank you so much for the pointers, this is what they don’t teach in our handling class. This our second show ever, first was at 4 months and it was a train wreck 😂.

This helped a lot. I have my first Doberman and he is my first show prospect. We are green as grass. I have a handler and she is doing a great job teaching me, as she knows I want to owner handle my next Doberman, but I have had this issue. Where Blitz is stacked correctly, but he just doesn't look quite as.... impressive? as other Dobes I see, even though his angultion, topline, head, and tail set are all really excellent for our breed. THIS is it. This is the difference. It's not just the feet and tail and ears. It's the weight balance and the neck skin etc. Obviously anyone that knows Dobermans, knows that they are a very competitive breed, and we show them VERY "showy." Thank you for this. Exited to start stacking again and making a note of this.

Omg thank you so much… I have been struggling with what to do with the dang lead around the neck. I was on the right track, but this helped immensely!

I just found your videos and am loving them! I JUST got into the show ring for the first time one year ago with my norwegian elkhound, however, I also live in a very rural area, so he hasn't gotten the best socializing growing up (too many lawless dogs running around). He's learned to be absolutely wonderful with the judges, but he still gets way too interested in all the other dogs, regardless if I have bait or not. I try to get him in the ring more for the experience, but I live at least 6 hours away from anywhere. Any tips? Hahah!

Thank you for this presentation. I have 3 cocker spaniels that I present. I really appreciate your demonstration. Very professional for a good grip. It is true that the tension with the tail is important, I did not do it like that. Thank you, I will improve my technique.
