THIS STORY:
Stephen Burrell Small was a prominent businessman in Kankakee, Illinois. In 1987, he was kidnapped and held for ransom by Danny Edwards and Nancy Rish.

THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

I met Stephan Small in the early 80's. His family owned the cable company that my ex worked for at the time. He and his family would always attend the company's annual summer cook-out. It was a shock to all of us that this happened. RIP Mr. Small.

We had a Governor here in Alabama, Fob James, on his last day in office, commuted the sentence of a killer named Judith Neelley. Neelley, along with her husband abducted a 13 year old girl, Lisa Ann Millican, from a mall in Georgia. They brought her to Alabama, sexually assaulted her, and took her to Little River Canyon where Judith Neelley, after first trying to kill her by injecting drain cleaner into her veins, stood her at the edge of the canyon and shot her in the back, killing her. Neelley's lawyer claimed she was an abused wife and afraid of her husband. But she was holding the gun and could just as easily shot her husband as a 13 year old child. She was sentenced to death. The governor, in commuting her sentence didn't specify life without parole so she could get out some day. So far her parole requests have been denied and I believe she cancelled the last one. Still, the possibility exists. The Neelley's killed another woman in Georgia and attempted to murder that woman's boyfriend. She in no way deserves to ever be free. Alvin Neelley died in prison.

When someone committed a brutal crime, I think the death penalty should be used. The prisons are full of people that don't deserve to live, and the tax prayers foot the bill for the rest of there lives. There is no reason to have super max prisons. Give them what they deserve, and put them out of there misery, and bring closer to the family's that lose an innocent victim.

Happy 4th of July to everyone in America 🇺🇸 ❤️. I'm glad neither of you guys were wandering around alone out there today. Thankyou for the story and as always respect for those whose graves you pass and mention so graciously. I just want to say happy birthday to my mamma in heaven she would be 100 years old today. God bless everyone 🙏 ❤️ 🙏❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Such a cruel ending to his life, definitely deserving of a death sentence for the perpetrators. Eternal peace for Mr. Small, 🙏 for family. Too much meanness in the world. Thank you for this episode. I was queasy watching y'all go way back in the woods, wondering how did they get that barrel in there. 😮
