FOUND: 59' CORVETTE in Georgia
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
My crew and I headed out East to Georgia last week to save a 1959 Corvette that the current owners grandfather claims he drove into his garage over 60 years ago (or something like that). When communicating with the owner, he sent me a picture of the car with the hood open that shows a fuel-injection unit on top, so this could be a pretty sweet find! Follow along on our journey to help rescue another classic and get her back on the road where she belongs!

Wow. That just goes to prove that those old cars are still out there, in barns and garages all over America.

Not jus in America I found one in Sweden but somebody else tock it I am a friend of the ex owner now
I knew an old guy some years ago that was the Rochester Fuel Injection technician at the dealership he turned wrenches for. He had to go a GM school to be trained on it. He retired from turning wrenches around 2005 and had a nice little retirement business out of his home shop of fixing and restoring those old injection systems for customers. I guess his name got around in the classic corvette community and then got out nationally. He never had a shortage for work. But he worked at his own speed. I asked him if Rochester FI was as bad as people talk about. He said they worked perfectly fine, superior to carburetion, and is a masterpiece of engineering by the Rochester folks. But anything mechanical has to be tuned and settings need to be adjusted. What would happen is people would buy a second-hand fuelie corvette, try to get Joe Bob down at the corner gas station to adjust it for him so he wouldn't have to take it to the dealer. Joe Bob would go to fiddling around under the hood, make things even worse, and then just convince the owner to take the whole system off and replace with a simple carburetor. Consequently there were a lot of those shops in the late 60's and early 70's that had fuelie systems sitting on a back shelf somewhere. The old guy I knew, would go around and buy them and just collect them. He liked to use them for his own projects. (When I knew the guy, he had a 63 impala coupe with a custom 327 small block and a fuelie system.) The hardest part to find is the fuel injection specific distributor because it had a special flex driveshaft coming off of it to run the injection pump. So when carburetor conversions were done, the original distributor stayed with the car. I have no idea if that old guy is still alive. That was a long time ago. Sad that these old guys die and take their knowledge with them.

That is great info that you shared. Most people won’t share info. Sometimes I don’t blame them. If someone out there that needs info on something, I will share the info. But try and screw me over, I will never share again.

When I was stationed at Barksdale AFB in 1977 I was at a machine shop in Shreveport getting some head work done and there were 3 of those Rochester Corvette fuel injection set ups sitting on a shelf. The owner said they were worthless because a Holly 4 barrel carb would out perfume them and Vette owners would pull them off and give them away. Now they’re gold!
I cant believe all the cars Dennis has found he still doesn't carry a good flashlight! LOL

Absolutely! Why do so many people want to use their phone light? A modern flashlight is so much better than a phone light, plus you do not risk dropping or damaging an 800 dollar or more smart phone. It just seems foolish, and you just carry the flashlight in the tow vehicle’s glove box. Always there and not needed to be taken out till you need it.

Hi, Dennis love what you do, wish we had cars like this in the UK. I have looked for a follow-up video of this and other cars you rescue but can't find any can you please do follow up when they have been cleaned and then after any refurbishment

Hi Dennis Wish I had a car like this in my friggin garage in my driveway by the curb me driving it
It would be nice to see your finds if you can create another video on how it was restored. that would be awesome!
Kudos to the "head guy" actually helping with work to get the Corvette out!

It is surprising the number of lazy jerks who figure they've done their end of the deal by selling it & just stand around and watch Dennis and Co. work
Beautiful car, those lines are so pretty
I don't think I said it in the video (my bad) but the car has 55,130 miles

Hey Dennis i live in Atlanta and just seen on the news were a airport work has tested positive for covid 19 i just thought you should know
58-60 were the coolest Corvettes ever. I owned a pair of 60's like forever and loved them both.
Dennis is very passionate about the car's he finds and I like the fact that he takes the time to talk to the people about the car
What a fantastic tangible piece of history and a great example of man’s emotional connection with machines!
When you have enough money, great things can happen. When you are a knowledgeable and great human being, it's magic!
You can just see the life coming back into her the moment y’all started opening doors and the hood can’t wait to see her all cleaned up

"find" lool.. you think these guys go wondering on private property and "find" these cars? you still count on the tooth fairy? they are put up for sale and the winning bidder makes a vid on how they "found" this car purely for content.. read a little into the spec prior to filming and boom! content.. these vids are not made because they are genuine car guys, because they want to cash in on all they can get.. these beauties deserve genuine enthusiasts, these old motors have soul, history, character, not like most of the so called car guys of today's era.. patched up and sold, should be a law against it imo :P id buy it and love it, but i guess that's just me :P
Dennis I would love to see a video of you guys offloading the car and pressure washing/vacuuming the car for the first time! Kind of a before and sorta after. I bet others would love to see it too. Also in your last video you mentioned Peerless, are they rare? I saw where one is that was left abandoned along with other rare cars.
_Thank you for saving another classic car, one owner '59 Corvette fuelie._
I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I watch one of your shows. Thank You🏎
Amazing how you find these cars please restore that one
Amazing finds, living the dream over and over again, you are the machine Mr. Collins. Love the videos.
I love finds like this. My love affair with the automobile grows stronger when I see events like this...Way to go Dennis...
I like hearing Richard crying and complaining most of all the negotiating, Dennis is the opposite he says out loud ,that's cool, rare
Wow, this is going to be a great one to follow.
Tell Dennis that we have RESTORED several of Corvettes with shifters like them & we have Perfected putting in Shifter Bushings & restoring these shifters BETTER THAN WHENEVER IT WAS NEW!!! THE SHIFTER WILL NEVER FAIL AGAIN GUARANTEED!!!
That was an awesome find, and a really cool “hiding spot”! What a haul out! Great job! Thank you making the effort to share these stories!
She's in the right hands now. You know this car will be epic. It will be fun to watch her transformation.
Man, Dennis and company are very patient, well-equipped, knowledgeable and experienced. I'm going to attempt to coin a phrase. This is what I call "C-archeology." What a beautiful car.
Hey Dennis, Watching Alex put the jack under the Vet, it occurred to me that you should always have several air bags that can be inflated to raise a car up should it so low that a jack can't be inserted under the car... Great Video, glad your out there rescuing the classics.
Great find! You have to be an aficionado, an historian, and a Sherlock Holmes level detective aside from your skills as a persuasive negotiator to make all these, "saves" happen! There's just something about the lines and curves of these old automobiles from before the so called "modern" examples we have available today. Can't wait to see this elegant girl restored!
It was an incredible find. Hope we see more about this car! 😀

This is the one thing I don't like about this channel. Dennis seldom follows up showing the restorations. I think he's missing a good deal by not doing that.
This kind of thing has been a dream of mine for a lot of years, finding a barn find of an old Corvette or Porsche or something rare. I did manage to find a rare Toyota LandCruiser in 2009 that's still in my garage. But this Corvette is nothing short of incredible.
UN real ! So hard to imagine these gems are still out there.
Simply amazing the car looks like it has straight body. This is a very nice find for sure.
This is right down the street from my house.... crazy
Dennis strikes again!! Congratulations on such a wonderful barn find, and bravo on saving such an important vehicle 👍
As a kid in the late 60’s my cousin used to race a black 59 in Atlanta. Boy that car brings back some great memories.
This is one of my favorites. Just watched it AGAIN.
Well, Dennis, you got one right out of my backyard! It was the Vette I remember seeing for years in Marietta Ga. off Kirkpatrick St. Drove by there almost every day of my life going to work. The overgrowth of weeds kept it from being discovered. The first time I saw it was probably early 80's. Thought it was long gone. Lesson learned to follow up on all leads no matter how old. Saw the mailbox address number and went by there today. That house and garage has been remodeled and cleaned up. Keep up the good work!
What an absolutely amazing find, I can only hope to get so lucky. Love to find a sweet car like this, great resto project.
Wow! I love tagging along on these treasure hunts.
That was sensational thanks for the invite to this rescue Dennis to think that car maybe would have rotted away and never been found thanks again so from all here to all there Australia
As a car enthusiast, this is an amazingly interesting video, it's so interesting seeing all the difficulties there are to make a car, hopefully restored and original. One word of advice for $100 you could buy an incredibly good flashlight would be very helpful your operation! Thanks great videos
Great fine
Another fun adventure, another great finding another rescued american classic. Nothing gets better than that... Thumbs way up!!
My hat is off to Mr Collins and Crew! Collins and Crew must not need sleep......
Such a cool find Well done you and your team on another Rescue
Wow, great show and find, thanks for sharing.
Usually when I pick up a old car on a trailer my first stop is the car wash. LoL the comments you get are great.
That's the best barn find I can imagine...hope you show it to KZread the way you restore or just clean it! I enjoy you videos ...especially when it's cars most of us can afford.
Well I'll be honest, I.ve never really had a thing for Corvettes but this is one hell of a good looking car. Just happens to be the year I was born.
Great barn find for sure. I guess there was no time for the food extravaganza after loading up the Vette. Dennis was smart for another reason turning the Vette around on the trailer. For the weight distribution on the trailer. Trailers like the weight on the front for better tracking behind the tow vehicle. If you've ever tried towing a vehicle backwards on a trailer, you'd understand immediately what I'm talking about! The trailer wants to swing back n forth while at speed. Dangerous at best 😳
You are the best !!! Rawlings can get dressed !!! 😁😁👍👍👍
Man .. how you guys find great classics like that ..
Thanks, that WAS interesting: hopefully 59 CORVETTE back on the Road/ shows!! , and with owner/ driver....
This is amazing I love this channel i get so excited watching these finds keep up the great work
OUTSTANDING as usual, thanks for sharing.
Cool find. Bring it back to life Dennis.
One of my favourite channels - keep ‘em coming guys👍👍👍
Great story Awesome context love the work you & kiddos do
Very cool episode. Great as always! I’ve been waiting all week for my Dennis Collins video-fix! That was a pretty tight fit through that car-port!
That was amazing how you guys pulled it out of there. Awesome.
I bought a new LED flashlight at Menard's called a Guidesman. 800 lumens for $16.00. Have one for Home I liked so I got one for my 2017 Escape. A very good flashlight for the money. The handles are made of carbon fiber. Dennis needs that flashlight. Shawn.
As a Georgia resident, cool to see such a find!
58,59 and 60 Corvette C1 is my favorite corvette of all time. In 4 months time i will own a 59 C1 Corvette that is LATE PRODUCTION. Start its build in 59 December but ended 60 January.

If you think driving 15 hours straight on America's interstate highway system is a "dream job",You should try it sometime.
My favorite Corvette. Almost bought one back in '84, but I needed a daily driver. My biggest regret. It was red with white fuelie and red interior.
First coffee walk that I’ve watched that had no question about food lol
The car is so hot just as it is for crying out loud -good luck with it! Bring that Ultra classic back to life!!
a buddy of mine sent me pictures of that car while yall were moving it around in the parking lot of the bank where he works, How cool is that Dennis.
GREAT FIND !!!!!!!
We should be friends I like the things you do and way you go about it so much fun and your a class act
Another awsome find! Just brilliant 👏
Unbelievable love these finds man,I do think you should do more follow ups on these cars you find, plus the cleaning restoration part of the vehicle’s,love the channel
That's an awesome barn find thanks for sharing this find great vlog
Great find Dennis, is there any follow up to this? It would be great to see it again, a valet or restoration perhaps
Good morning Folks ! , I think is about time for you to buy a Flash light body !!!
Awesome find. You never cease to amaze me on finding such classics.
Wow Dennis incredible awesome find!! Can’t believe the wheels where not locked up!
Props to finding and recovering it 🙌🏻🧐
Andy Heberts 59 corvette fuelie , and he wanted to get rid of the fuel injection because nobody knew how to work on it. Brings back memories!!
Wow. Glad you saved it
Damn, that's a heck of a find, and fuel injected at that. When I first got a glimpse at the engine I thought it was a TPI swap engine ,then I got a second look and seen that It's an original fuelie car, love your content Dennis!!!,keep it coming.
WOW, what a sweet ride thats gonna be, cant wait to see the final outcome
Amazing you can still find A barn find like that
Great find! Member of rescue team pounds hood once with fist once, and it opens!
Another Classic Car Saved!!!!
Dennis really is living his best life!
Beautiful find.
What a great find Dennis, I don’t know how you do it!
We always get to see you dig out cars, but we never get to see the after. We want to see those rescued cars, cleaned fully restored and running.
The knowledge of cars Dennis has, Domestic and Imports is insane. It amazes me every time he walks up to a car and starts talking about different number / letter codes and all the different factory accessories that came with the particular year of car etc. I would love to follow him around and try to take in as much of that knowledge as possible. Seems like a really cool guy to be around. He doesn't try to scam people out of thousands of dollars to try to make a huge profit either.
