I admire the patience some people like this women have with animals. Just like some people, certain animals need a lot of coaxing to come out of their shells, and are dealing with trust issues. Taking the time to get into a routine with them and helping them trust again is so important for animals...and humans.

@@jeremysmith9694 I was lucky enough to find a woman nine years ago who helped me trust again, and was willing to work with me as an introvert, instead of trying to change me into something I'm not. We've been officially dating 6 years this March, and she has improved me greatly. As someone who never thought it would happen, I wish you the best of luck in finding someone who understands and helps you, whether that be a romantic relationship or just a friend.

She walks with such bounce and freedom, it’s wonderful to see. Thanks to all the great foster parents out there for your faith, love and understanding.

After being too scared to leave her crate and then the house, it was great to see Akaw enjoying a walk outside. The BOUNCE in her step showed that she was not only confident, but also genuinely excited! Fostering 68 dogs is a remarkable accomplishment.

I foster, and when people ask me how I can let them go, it’s not about owning the dog, but about helping them get past there issues, trauma, neglect. When they come out of that crate and join you and want to be with you it’s the greatest moment ever and then, you know they’re ready to go onto their forever home and you are free to take in another foster. Makes someone's entire world a cage. It quickly becomes the safest most comfortable place. Good job! And good job on keeping the cage, her little safe spot she could hide in when the world felt to big and overwhelming! Obviously very glad the world doesn't feel so threatening to her anymore and she can just be a goofy dog like dogs should be!

I love people like this who are so loving and patient with animals like this who are broken. They made this dog believe everything would be fine and to take another chance with--humans! I know Heaven has a a place for people like these.

I admire foster parents do much. I would to foster dogs but I get attached and fall in love with them so quickly I wouldn't want to give them up!.😄 I would end up with a house full of doggies before long. They are so special and so loving how can you help yourself. 😊💝

AAAWWW! What a Bonny girl! yeh I had a problem with my girl, she also was kept in a crate far too long, 6 months I believe. She was the opposite when I took her though, totally hyper!! It was a difficult 1st year but she's made it & happily lying there on her back, 9 yrs later, one eye open waiting for that magic word, Walk!

I adopted a dog just like that. it took her about 2 months to get comfortable enough to move around the house while going outside was another issue. Another month or 2 went by and she started to like going outside. All it takes is time and trust :) now she's a happy baby and likes to play with her siblings

She is a gorgeous girl! She just needed to learn to trust, and like all dogs, once they feel safe they are going to give you all the love and affection you could ever ask for!

Using a harness would have been kinder than a collar. Did she pee and poop in her crate ? What was her history ? So glad she found a great home, no doubt because of her foster family !

Sitting with her and talking to her but let her make her own decisions when she felt safe is best.

She's beautiful as beautiful as your soul, that's a great thing you did

I have a rescue cat in my bathroom right now. Sunday will be one week. She comes out to eat and use the litter box and then goes right back into her large carroer where ive made a bed. When I reach in and pet her, she purrs. I hope she eventually comes out for good like this sweetie.

She obviously had traumatic experiences and had good reason to be afraid. Pets needed time and patience to adjust but not be on a strict timeline. But I understand that there are so many pets that need fostering and time may feel rushed. Thanks for fostering!
