We are an immigrant family, we struggled for years to stand up on our own feet from low level jobs. We have NOTHING TO DO with slavery in the US. Why do we pay for something we never done, from the money we struggled for years to get? This is LEGAL RACISM!

Because you were a Caucasian immigrant family, you were ALLOWED to do and produce. Whenever the children of African descent endeavored to do and produce, Caucasians, WITH THE LAW ON THEIR SIDE, burned, destroyed, hang, raped, UNDERMINED in all areas, and mutilated up to the 1960s until we got tire of the HELL we and our grandparents had to endure.

When people talk about reparations, it’s supposed to be for the descendants of slaves, period. How come what the ancestors in between slavery and today did or didn’t do is irrelevant? If they did nothing to move themselves forward, how is that society’s fault such that contemporary Americans have to pay for reparations?

Reparations should be first in the form of tax free land and self governance. Everything else can be worked out.

It should be cash (14 trillion dollars to start) and laws created in our favor specifically for us, that way no matter where we live or move to from NYC to Cali we will have that much more protection.

I can support reparations if the people who are forced to pay them, are descendants or members of those entities who supported, committed, or defended slavery to begin with. To ask a descendant of a family that lost one or more members in the Civil to defeat slavery is not fair. But some of those organizations who committed, protected, and perpetrated in slavery, are still around today and they have never apologize for, or made amends for their acts. Harvard University was originally built by slaves lent by their masters to construct the buildings then server the students and faculty of that institution. Harvard is currently sitting on a trust fund of over one trillion dollars all contributed from slave owners. Then there is the Democratic party. the Democratic party was the party of the south, they ceded from the Unites States because we elected Abraham Lincoln, and to protect their slave traditions. After the civil war the Democratic party created the KKK to terrorize the blacks in the south and prevent them from exercising their constitutional rights, then passed the Jim Crow Laws in order to make it institutional racism against blacks. It was Woodrow Wilson who showed "The Birth of a Nation" in the White house thus caused a resurgence of the KKK in 20's. Then FDR in order to get his New Deal passed agreed with the Southern Democrats to exclude all blacks from the New Deal and the Social Security program plus he would veto any anti-lynching legislation from Congress. It was LBJ who passed the Great Society Bill with the help of the Republicans but then snuck in the Welfare act that has destroyed the black family in America. These two institutions alone have done illrepapariable damage to the Black population in America and they should own up to their misdeeds and pay reparations.

Did you not hear anything?!?..white people that don't have a high school diploma get higher paying jobs than blacks with a MBA..TODAY!!! SO ALL WHITES BENEFITS..ALL WHITES SHOULD PAY!! Redlining, home loans from government, and lots of other benefits embedded in America bias caste system!! That includes you!!!!! If you dont have it anymore then your relatives have lost it..but at least you HAD it!! But you can/will get it back because!

@gary grine homestrad act federal farming act G.I bill social federal housing act just to name a few welfare programs after slavery and ww1 that gave white people an ckear path to wealth in this country......All these programs excluded former slaves and thier children....If we had access long ago to this wealth we would have ownership....We could exploit those programs and build an something like the Mormons did in Utah...

STUPID:::::; The men and women of the cloth are tight lipped about the plagues that GOD OUR LORD has put upon the earth... No REPARATIONS WHICH IS BIBLICALLY SOUND THAT AMERICA HAS SINNED IN, and no one chooses to understand that the world wide pandemic is due to sin.... And since America had GOD's grace on her, but all of her hatred ,political oppression, economic exploitation social and racial discrimination human dignity in life liberty has been compromised 3/5 of a human being unbridled capitalized aggression racial hatred as well
