Fort Tejon California 1854-1864.

This California State park is an unassuming stop along the Grapevine. It's definitely an obscure park to get off at as we are all so busy, but definitely worth the time #californiastateparks
I'm a very big fan of history. I hope you enjoy this visit to Tejon State Park in #California

Hey the old Ft. Tejon! This brought back memories when I was into Civil War reenacting back in the 1980's. It was pretty hokie but fun. We had battles on the parade ground. The buildings didn't have the displays they do now and look a lot better. The tree where trapper Peter Lebec was killed by a X (cross) Grizzly is (was) fenced off on the far NW corner of the fort. Cool video. Thanks!!

I actually LOVE the reenactments. In Fresno we used to host the "Civil War revisited " at Kearney Park. It was so fun!! I wish more people would visit these historical parks to try to actually understand history. Thanks for letting me know where the tree where Lebec perished is!!
