This is exactly the layout of what we had when my Dad was stationed at Fort Polk! My room was the room you didn't use. Thank you so much for sharing! And thank you for your service! Stay safe and healthy

Hey! Thank you for the video, we are PCSing to Fort Polk at the end of this month. Couple questions: were you guys allowed to paint the house? If so, did you or is that the standard color? Is there any sort of back yard at your house? We have a dog as well and were wondering how he'd be living on post.

Yes you are allowed to paint however when u move it must be painted back to the original colors panda white or eggshell. Also our backyard is very very small we have two dogs. Some places have enclosed patios plus small outside yardage. Let me know if u have any questions

My dad was stationed in Ft Polk from 1983-1986. That brings back a lot of memories. Our house was on Stewart St. It looked very similar to that one. What street do you live on, if you don't mind me asking. I remember about 5 street names from Ft Polk.

I spent 2 glorious months TDY there in early '66. The wind would actually blow through the spaces between the slats of the wooden walls of the barracks. It would be helpful if those posting video of the military housing if we were told what rank you need to get the particular housing shown. What, for example, could an E4 expect when going there? Do they still have 50 people to a room? Do you have single rooms?

This is for E6 and below housing. They have three communities on post and then officer housing which is way nicer.

Are you allowed to change the tiles? I know it probably makes no sense considering you might not permanently stay there but yea.

We will be PCSing to Ft Polk in April, no kids, crazy dog though. Would you guys choose to stay in the base housing again or would you snag a place off base?

K Vol the communities and near surrounding are not very good for your money. If you and your spouse can afford to live in housing their are some communities 10+ minutes away but very expensive. Aside from that base really is the only option 😭

trinity compton on base because off base unless your spouse is an E5 or higher there is not much housing options. And nicer housing is only for officers
