Exactly what I was thinking as well. Odd thing is the video I was watching before this one was Hamilton Pharmacopeia Swaziland marijuana and the African men laugh as they sell him probably an oz or more for a mere $10 U.S. , most likely because that’s more than what they receive in payment for a couple trash bags full, and then a senior man who is the farmer/land owner comes in view and scolds his guys for bringing around a white guy.. next scene Hamilton got a few guys around him, one guy sparks up and he’s told “you have to smoke it.” Replies “Have to?” and without delay you hear 4 immediate responses of “Yes, you have to!”. I’m no expert in African etiquette but If I were a betting man I’d put money on the elder man making that happen and would hate to see what would happen had his response been anything other than “ok”.

He was given Hapé which is a a shaming version of snuff and purging ie vomiting, blowing your nose, spitting is a part of the process. It’s cleans your spirit and puts you into the present. It’s ok, it’s obvious that no one explained anything to him to make him aware of what the experience would be like. Your nose burns, your eyes water and it’ can be uncomfortable and you can puke your guts out. The thing is, you do feel amazing afterwards. Puking isn’t necessarily a bad thing, we only attach a negative feeling to it because we puke when we are sick when it’s our bodies getting rid of stuff we need to release.

Being exposed to organic substances in doses the body can handle and metabolyse/block in a relatively short interval of time, stimulates your body for an even longer duration than it takes to metabolyse these substances. It resets the neurotransmitters. You get internally zapped, and because of that, certain other conditions also go away for mentioned duration. So to say, it makes your body get into survival mode as part of the stimuli. Your own body does most of the work that you consider as high on a substance. I think a bad trip reveals negative thoughts in our mind that we fail to recognize until they're forced in front of us. Guru's in India were known to describe negative thoughts as spirits, because you have to keep in mind the average person in the past wasn't educated enough to understand that a negative thought is not you, it's simply a thought. By having this thought forced in front of you through a bad trip, you can either continue running or 'exorcise' the 'demon' by reflecting on why this thought bothers you and what might have produced it.

That's a common story, you often get sick when taking hallucinatines and being spiritual guided . I've experienced it myself, felt I was going to die and afterwards felt more "normal" great , than ever before!

The powder is called rapé (indigenous term) and is a common protection ritual before doing ayahuasca or other dmt intakes like yopo.

I’m surprised for a scientist guy he didn’t do any research as to what it at least COULD HAVE BEEN. He seems more adventurer than scientist.

Miss this story and I miss Joe been on youtube, I watched him daily on yt, haven't watched since on spotify I wonder what's happened to the shows overall views?

I have learned about DMT going on four years now. I want to meet a Shaman and experience this. Ever since watching what happens to the individual, I have made it a mission to allow myself to whenever this happens....just go for it. I know it is real. I will still do weed but as long as the shaman is guiding me respectfully.

u can make it urself its very easy and u can order everything legally for it

this blessing was the Rapé. and its basically tobbaco and some herbs.

makes totally sense because a high dosage of tabaco can make you dizzy and make you puke if you never smoked before

@@SiefausOsna even as a regular smoker Rapè hits ya pretty hard, i didn't puke and neither did my non smoker girlfriend but no way you wouldn't tear up, I've done it a few times and only gagged if the powder starts dripping down the back of your nasal passage into your throat, shit tastes nasty

In the 80's there was a similar treatment to the green powder that made people very successful. Except the green powder was white, the monkey bone was a rolled up twenty dollar bill, and when you got some all your friends came over to also become very successful.

Mr. Galante probably had a very strong reaction because his body was very susceptible to the active agents in the drug mix... but definitely a fun story, and a great concept of a placebo :) Awesome segment!

"drugs are not my thing" barley seems to know what the word drugs mean "nothing has ever hit me like that, i was the only one" expresses complete faithless skepticism with any levels of life below the very surface, props for at least having the respect..
