Joe says some funny stuff, but noticing that his guest gets his back up while talking about some heavy stuff is great. He might ask simple questions that seem irrelevant to a lot of people, but it’s the seemingly irrelevant stuff that fills in the gaps of all the inane questions I have. bulwark is a type of defensive wall. It's often thought of in relation to things like shields/shield walls.

I read his book after hearing him give an interview on NPR about a year ago. I just got around to reading it. It was heart wrenching and it made me sad to imagine him out there in Somalia. I cried as the book came to an end. I was, and am, so happy for him.
