    Pademelons do have a small home area and are somewhat predictable my partner raise a couple and when we released them they basically just made our small property there home area. I think we’re up to our third or fourth set of offspring. Also with them being predictable, when we moved into town we started realising that a female would come to our house go out the back and feed from just after sunset until around 10-11 o’clock obviously late in summer time.

  • @Kenjineering
    @Kenjineering2 жыл бұрын

    Pademelons have a small home range of 500m. We generally get the same individuals at the same camera sites and rarely have them passing through (i.e. one photo) within their preferred habitat. As for denning, I'm not an expert, however I don't think they create them and have only observed them opportunistically resting in natural dens and within thick vegetation with high shelter/cover.

    The daytime photo, you can see it’s head turned right almost a complete side view of the face, it has long pointy ears. I think that’s how he made such a quick definitive identification of that one as a, whatever it was, and not a thylacine he wasn’t just going off of the but shape. The but shape he says was a thylacine I can’t see any hint of the head so I have no clue what other features distinguish between marsupials like thylacines and whatever the other one was.

    I'm skeptical for one simple reason. The dingo...a invasive species...competes for the same resources and reproduces 6 times faster than the thylicine. I doubt there are any thylicine left. I have nothing against Forrest Galante or Neil Waters, however they also know there likely aren't any thylicine. They knows thylicine can't have as many pups as a dingo. They're problem is no TV network is going to make a series of episodes searching for dingos.

    @@brendonwilliams6383 I must have missed where they mentioned Tasmania specifically. You are right that there are no Dingos in Tasmania, however there are a number of invasive species including wild dogs that would make it a challenge for Thylicine to recover in Tasmania or other parts of it's original range. There is however a fairly well funded de extinction effort underway at the University of Melbourne. I wish them luck..

    How can you mistake the ass of a goat for the slender hips of a Thylacine???? Just look at the width of it! There's nothing that I want more than this animal to be alive, but fuck me man that's just irresponsible!

    Waters reminds me of Cliff Barackman in how he has an extremely biased view on Bigfoot and only sees one thing rather than looking objectively. Barackman isn't as bad as Waters, but he still tends to lean one way. At least the Thylacine was a real animal that existed. Bigfoot, not so much.
