Former Marine Scout Sniper's .308 Rifle Build

This is my original .308 rifle that I built to serve as a hybrid between competition and what I used in the Marine Corps as a Scout Sniper.

What’s up man. I was one of your students in 2015. This video just popped up on my feed, had no idea you were running classes on the civilian side now. Sweet build. I will never forget my time learning from you and the other instructors. Some of the most fun I have ever had even if some of us in the class, myself being one, had some lady ankles.

Got a simple bolt action with wood stock , 556 nato , 1/ 12 twist , 20 inch chrome lined barrel , ar 15 extractor on the bolt, weaver bases with 4x scope, action is a beefed up bruno 22lr copy. Its a cheap bolt action that is zeroed at 300 meters , 3 inches high @ 100 meters using 55 grain fmj . Im going to check it out on gophers this summer time. The rifle I own is a Norinco JW105 . Sweet build. SAC built me something similar in 6.5x47. I love the action (which is a defiance ruckus tactical). They have built a few of my guns - their gunsmithing and head spacing is fantastic. It has made my reloading life easier. On tripod based shooting - I go back and forth between holding and never touching the tripod (which I think is more accurate but harder for follow up shots), I wish someone would do a vise or clamp that allows the rifle to slide back under recoil.

Australian shooter here-man that is one sweet .308 custom rifle. I have a .308 custom ELR rifle but not to this level of expense. Mine is a custom weatherby short action on a 27 inch barrel sitting in a MDT LSS GEN 2 chassis with a vortex razor HD GEN II 4.5X27X56 Scope. I got a custom tuned muzzle break fitted to it and im of course reloading my own ammo with hornady brass and 168 grain match grade btp.Hot loads(46 grains of ADI 2208 powder) and im consistently getting 2880 fps over the chrono and grouping @ 4 moa @ 800 yards. Its sweet spot is 500 yards,1.5 moa consistently. My next build is going to be a 300 PRC ruger precision rifle build if the ammunitions industry gets their act together with reloading supplies for this particular cartridge in Australia.
