Former GM Zack Scott on the Mets- Pete Alonso dilemma | SNY
Спорт
On Baseball Night in New York, how would former Mets GM Zack Scott handle Pete Alonso with the deadline looming next month and free agency pending in the offseason? Scott says the Mets are doing the right thing not negotiating in season, but at this point they probably wouldn't get a substantial return at the deadline for Alonso. He adds that it could lead to hard feelings if the Mets trade Pete in season and then try to re-sign him when he hits the open market.

I could learn more from this segment with the sound turned off.
I am of the belief that if you trade Alonso for some prospects who actually pan out, the next thing you will say is : "Now we just need a big bat" oops. I am not looking forward to listening to WFAN at the trading deadline!
I would put Alonso on the market now
This team is highly unlikely to be close to the wildcard by the trade deadline. Sell hard at the deadline. They could have a solid infield with Vientos, Mauricio, Baty, and Alvarez.
As bad as Pete's numbers are right now he is still putting asses in the seats.
Yes
Yes great idea trade him then sign him back in off season fr
I guess this should be called how to be a GM, beginners guide, preface, level 1
Pete, proving he can't perform under pressure during the game, or for a big contract. Betting on himself, and losing.
Nothing means
Pete is coming back to the. Mets
Re-sign my guy.
Hope he ubered there and back home
More LOLMets. So SNY, the channel of the Mets, hires Zack Scott former GM who was fired for driving intoxicated to analyze the current team in studio. You just can't make it up. But again this is the Mets we're talking about.

This btw is the same network that employs Andy Martino.... If you needed a further reminder of their incompetence.

He was proved innocent and the charges were dropped. The police officers were disciplined for falsifying the report.
Mini Market Stearn should stop beating around the bush and re sign ALONSO, though STEARNS is dying to get rid of ALONSO because his future salary will upset his MINI MARKET/ MONEY BALL approach.
