Gotta disagree, again. How many teams have ONLY homegrown players for the majority of roster? FA and Cap prevents teams from only develop their own talent. Chytil and Kakko perfect examples. What have they done as 1st rounders? Laffy finally came around. Every team uses all 3 phases of roster building= FA, Draft and Trades. There is NO magic formula. TB did it thru trades, so has FL. Rangers gave away 2 captains to TB, and Miller. Every team sees gems on other rosters, that bring the needed elements. Its not draft ONLY. Dont forget, when they become great at 20 yrs old, you won't be able to afford them when they are 26.

And that's another thing. Get rid of the salary cap. Remember, the last time the Rangers won the Cup there was no cap. And get rid of some of the dead wood in the league. There are too many teams in the NHL. And Bettman wants to add six more teams? Is he crazy? Make the league stronger by subtracting some teams and distributing the players from these teams to the remaining teams in the league. That is how you make the league stronger. Adding anymore teams will just dilute the product.

Leave Laffy alone he'll be fine, just keep putting him out there and he will be Rewarded with 35 to 40 goals a yr with maybe 60 to 70 pts a yr, I have faith in him he's a good player and is still young. LET'S GO RANGERS.

Lias Anderson, Vitali Kravyzov were busts, although we did salvage the Anderson pick with Cuylle. Kakko,, drafted a year prior to Laf should be further along in his development than Laf but is not. The Stars, drafting after us, come away with Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston while we selected Anderson and Brennan Orhman. Is it scouting, player development, coaching, organizational philosophy or a little bit of everything?

@Chyeahokay Roslavic was gone as soon has the season ended. He was a rent a player. He’s free agent.

In addition, they actually rangers have quite a few players that were drafted and are on the roster. I think you mentioned about nine or 10 that’s quite a few that’s out of 22 on the entire roster that’s good most 50%. I bet if you look a lot of other NHL teams a lot of them don’t have anywhere near that many players that they drafted Are still on the roster and that doesn’t include the guys in AHL either so I think they have quite a few.

K'Andre Miller's been great? Seriously? I guess you don't mind 2 on 1's going the other way every 2-3 times a game. Or a guy who runs into the corner to chase instead of remaining in front of the net. Or a guy whose idea of defense is trying to clear the puck every time he gets some pressure on him. Some of the things you say Darious make sense.... but on this guy you are WAY off.....

My take on this whole situation is Don't Waste Fans Time If You 're gonna play inconsistently the young players have been with the organization long enough to understand their role each and every game and if they think that making a salary doing nothing is easy money then their on the wrong team. You make many valid points! I have been a huge fan for 54 years. The big issue over the two decades has been the teams failure to develope forwards. They are real good with developing goalies and defenseman. An example? JT Miller is one that stands as proof, as well as Pavel Buchnevich. Why? That is the question I wish they could address properly.

54 years,2 Stanley cups in 100 years,2,that’s 2,and no this is not a mis print,2 yes two Staley cups in 100 years,wow,what a bunch of losers ,no grit,to many fancy dancers,Bread man went stale turned into bread crumbs,even when he first came up,with my home town Chicago Blackhawks,he did not like the corners,and his knowledge of Grit,was non existent!Dance through the 82 games,but men play in the Stanley cup playoffs!Just the facts,without Igor you guys are Toast!

Its 98 years for the Rangers Asa Franchise. They have won 4 Stanley Cups, 3 in the first 14 years. Now it's one in 84 years, it's crazy and so frustrating. I like every other Rangers fan are so tride and true loyal to this team. As every other hockey fan is of theirs. I am hoping to see one or more Championships before my time is up! One can only hope! 😂

​@@user-hv1hv8sw9dFirst off, it's not an easy task to slog through the playoffs dealing with injuries and such. The Rangers and Leafs are similar in some top heavy talent. Especially the Leafs, in the playoffs the East/West play style will not work against a heavy forechecking team. They will smother you in all three zones. The other thing to add is that five to 6 players can eat up the team salary cap by 45 to 55%. The other question is which of these two franchises will win a Cup first? Let's not forget the Canadiens as well. P.S. I miss old time smash mouth hockey (70's, 80's, 90's up until 2010). The good old days!😉

Cuylle, Schneider, Laffy, Kakko, Chytil, Rempe, Shesty, Miller, (Vesey Kreids) yrs ago came from drafts. Thats half of your team. I'd say thats a good showing. Drury needs to ditch Chytil, Kakko, Lindgren, Z. Jones, Gusty, and at least ONE of the lazy superstars who are afraid to get hit = Panarin, Kreider Mika and Fox. When the going gets tough, they are nowhere to be found. Roslo, probably a goner. Only guy who suprised me (and we missed him once he got clobbered vs FL) was Vesey, who is invaluable on PK. Thats why you DON"T get rid of Goodrow either. These guys are ROLE players. If the STARS had played like stars, we'd be in the finals.

Except goalies this has been a trademark of the Rangers for a long time
