About:
William Roger Reaves is an American pilot who was one of the most prolific drug smugglers in history. He worked for Pablo Escobar and the Medellín Cartel. Reaves employed Barry Seal as a pilot in many of his drug-smuggling operations. In his memoir, Smuggler (2016), Reaves claims that Seal paid millions in bribes to the Clintons when Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas in order to land planes carrying cocaine at Mena, Arkansas.

Powerful quote “a bird doesn’t have the child before it prepares a nest.” Very true. There are many with no guidance or role model to guide them for this. Christ prepares a home before we enter heaven, he prepared himself for the cross before we may have penance, he prepared a plan before the world was made. We need to teach responsibility and consequences.

I like Rogers idea of Prison Reform. When I did my prison time I spent every day working on myself. Spiritually, Mentally, Physically. Studying, Working out and figuring out who I was, and where I wanted to go. I refused to allow the state to take this time from me, and instead used it to work on myself.

Great podcast. The two men asking Roger questions was spot on as I am trying to understand why he would do it. Roger says prisoners should learn a trade, BUT Roger had different trades. Pilot, fireman, sold antiques, and etc. All those trades didn't keep Roger from smuggling cocaine, and returning to prison numerous times. Why? It didn't keep him from going back. Roger had a lot of different trades that other prisoners don't have, but it didn't work with Roger, now did it? I noticed the two men were trying to understand the same thing that I was trying to understand. Roger acts like smuggling cocaine is okay, and making millions is what mattered to him. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Roger talks like he is a nice christian family man, thinks he is a great parent, and never taking responsibility that he smuggled drugs that could hurt families, parents, or other children that destroys others lives. The story of the lion eating the baby didn't seem to phase Roger. To me it is strange, and something is way off about him. I do hope he has changed his life around, and helps others understand it's not ok to do that kind of work no matter how good the money is for doing it. Yes his story is facinating, but it was wrong what he did, and he is asked 3 times, but he skirted around it. I do hope Roger has changed his ways, and I do wish him well.

I agree with the parenting things , especially for those who didn’t have good fathers and are trying to be good fathers but are starting from 0 because they never experienced it , now that does not mean a father that didn’t have a father can only be a good father with help but it does having the help/advice it helps a lot

I disagree. Roger's story is fascinating, but they were trying to get to the root of why Roger kept going back to jail & prison himself when he had all kinds of trades to make a living. Unlike a lot of prisoners. Roger makes the suggestion at the end, but his answer is off. Roger had a private pilot license, he was a fireman, did contstruction work, and sold antiques on the side. Roger started just made a choice to do it full time smuggling cocaine. Why? It doesn't make sense, his trades didn't keep him out of prison and he went 20 something times. Think about it. Roger doesn't make sense. Something isn't right about it.They were trying to understand the reason just like myself. Something made him keep doing it, maybe it could just be he got greedy and loved money way too much

Don’t glorify this jackass. You should se the legacy of Escobar on the city of Medellin. I have never seen so many child prostitutes, kids sniffing glue, broken people, crazed maniacs so high they charge at you, for no reason, it is unreal. This guy should be ashamed of himself.

You don't think there's country boys up North? You Southern boys need to get outside the ten mile radius that you grew up in! I've lived in Texas and Georgia and they've got nothing on Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania ! There's more deer hunters per capita in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin than any state in the country!

Plus, his wife joins towards the end, & she's just as he described her. I wish there to be more people like them.
