Former CIA head Michael Hayden on why he won't endorse Trump or Clinton

On August 15, General Michael Hayden, the former head of the CIA and NSA, said Donald Trump has "autocrat envy." Hayden was one of 50 officials from past Republican administrations who signed a letter labeling Donald Trump a risk to America's "national security and well-being."
VICE News' Michael Moynihan sat down with Hayden shortly after Donald Trump gave his first major policy speech about national security and counter-terrorism.

you know thats kind of funny because thats how being sponsored works. i am not trump supporter nor am i supporting any candidate this year but, i dont agree with criticizing a man for not wanting to use his own fortune when he can get sponsored. If you wanted to go to harvard but did not have the money, yet your father did, would you go using money given by your father? You might be criticizing something that is commonly accepted.

Your explanation sounds more like Clinton preying on the weak and meager feminist/racists of this country... Trump says what everyone else is thinking. Besides it isn't up to the president alone to develop all the answers, that's why there are teams of puppet masters behind scenes who advise and execute every move this country makes. Just because certain female candidates have sucked government d**k their whole careers and can spit out the lingo doesn't mean they are fit to be a leader. Out of Clinton and Trump its a no brainer.

It was the blunder in Iraq that led to the formation of ISIS. After the invasion, 400,000 Iraqi troops were dismissed in one stroke. Where do you thing they went? They didn't go fishing...instead they joined anti-occupation forces. Why do you think ISIS was a success? They were led by ex-Iraqi Military officers who were dismissed. So, the fire was lit by the invasion.

You seem to skip over the years in which AQI was active in Iraq as a result and caused much devastation to the people and the nation as a whole. Then the surge took place which was widely denounced at home by many, yet at the end of the war had decimated AQI. Unfortunately the Obama administration ran on a platform of "ending the war" and didn't see the value of trying to work harder to get a status of forces agreement with Iraq and that led to the resurgence of what today is IS. Today, we have several thousand U.S. boots on the ground in both Iraq and Syria.

Hayden talks of Trump having "autocrat envy" when speaking of Vladamir Putin. How many remember President Bush proclaiming him a trustworthy friend, "because I have looked into his eyes and seen his soul." That said, I find it sad that the media, including VICE spends their time focusing on Trump but pays little attention to Clinton. Clinton has a record that can easily be looked at, yet the media continues to ignore her in favor of the entertainment value of Trump.

" Michael Vincent Hayden (born March 17, 1945) is a retired United States Air Force four-star general and former Director of the National Security Agency, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Hayden currently co-chairs the Bipartisan Policy Center's Electric Grid Cyber Security Initiative.[4] He was Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) from 1999 to 2005. During his tenure as director, he oversaw the controversial NSA surveillance of technological communications between persons in the United States and alleged foreign terrorist groups, which resulted in the NSA warrantless surveillance controversy. On April 21, 2005, then Lt. Gen Hayden, was confirmed by the United States Senate as the first Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence and awarded his fourth star-making him "the highest-ranking military intelligence officer in the armed forces".[5] He served in this position under DNI John Negroponte until May 26, 2006. On May 8, 2006, Hayden was nominated for the position of CIA Director following the May 5 resignation of Porter J. Goss, and on May 23 the Senate Intelligence Committee voted 12-3 to send the nomination to the Senate floor. His nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 26 by a vote of 78-15. On May 30, 2006 and again the following day at the CIA lobby with President George W. Bush in attendance, Hayden was sworn in as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Hayden speaking at the National Security Law Journal symposium on cybersecurity April 2, 2013, in Washington, D.C. On July 1, 2008, Hayden retired from the Air Force after over 41 years of service and continued to serve as Director of the CIA until February 12, 2009.[6] He received an honorary doctorate from the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC in 2009. He is currently a principal at the Chertoff Group, a security consultancy co-founded by former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.[7] Hayden also serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government. He was elected to the Board of Directors of Motorola Solutions effective January 4, 2011

Reading Kershaw's - Hitler, Nemesis, published 2002. It's been said a million times, but the similarities between Hitler and Trump's political strategy are striking. Kershaw literally uses the term 'make Germany great again' on numerous occasions.

I wold support this man for POTUS no matter which party nominated him. Former 4 star USAF, CIA head, security advisor. His lack of support for either 2016 candidate reflects my feelings to a tee. I did not vote for either one. His demeanor of speaking softly assures me that he'd get out the big stick when crossed. What we see is what we can take to the bank. All too rare in today's government.

He's nothing like the others He never had no Nazi brothers He don't give a shit about your faith or race He's just deal-makin' Don All Manhattan's his front lawn You can mock him but he'll laugh back in your face - CHRISTOPHER HAYDEN

Being such an advocate for waterboarding, Michael Hayden should be exposed to it himself for a couple of hours, and then walk back to his chair and tell the reporter his views about it again. The problem with torture is not only that its unethical, it is also NOT EFFICIENT when extracting information, as the victim will tell you lies just to make it stop.
