I love the bit where you and your Dad went for a run. The smile on his face showed he was a proud papa, and also showed he was still a car guy at heart. It reminded me of a number of years ago when I used to take my Dad out for a cruise. I drive a Dodge Cummins, something he and I both loved. Dad has been gone for almost 2 years now. That scene meant so much to me and brought back some fond memories. Thank you for all you do. God bless you and your family.

I can relate to that. My dad had a 70 Buick Wildcat with a 455 and to him, that was the fastest thing on planet earth. Everything was compared to it. On Father's Day in 2021, I took him for a run in my 88 Lincoln with an HO converted 5.0, looser torque convertor and better rear gears. When I passed a slower car going up a hill, he turned to me, grinned and said "it's not the Buick, but close enough!" On Remembrance Day that same year, I went to the airport to pick up my little brother (who is a soldier) for dad's funeral after he had died very suddenly and far too young.

At 13:49 in the video look at the inner fender just below hood hinge. Looks like you have spark jumping from the coil. Not sure if you saw and fixed it yet bu if not that is definitely a cause of rough running. Love the car and it’s coming together nicely, keep up the awesome work.

On the trans you took out there are two small snap rings holding the shift linkage together. If one of them is missing, you will have clicks from the pawl, but the spool will not be moving in the valve body. Easy to check. Great to see it running, congrats!

I think saw a lot of spark arcing in the coil area on the video while you were trying out the transmission the first go round, may want to look into it in case that's what I was actually seeing. Sucks about the transmission, man. I hate that for you. It always sucks to have it put together and have it not work. The look of pure joy and relief said it all when it finally went into reverse! I enjoy the videos, keep up the good work!

Dylan, I'm glad to see someone else messing around with the MOPAR Magnum engines. I used a 5.9L Magnum in my 1957 Chevy truck (Ethyl). I'm curious as to why you went with the A-904 instead of a 46RH. I would think that the addition of overdrive would be kinda beneficial, especially once you add the turbo. I do absolutely love the project and the channel. Keep up the good work.

I am a noob, but I was wondering, did they not make the police cars faster than any other vehicle. Would it not be fast with the original engine or did it have some issues. I was also thinking the separate wiring to the lights was due to safety, if it would be just one wire, both would fail, but like this they could be able to keep one or maybe it was so that the front lights would flash intermittently (no idea if that was a thing in US).

The 85’ police edition diplomat was my first circle track car. Came with the 318 but we swapped it out for a 360 after one season. The 360 made much bigger horse power. We also had a 3.42 rear end gear in it. The downside was the transmission. Occasionally it wouldn’t engage and eventually broke after 3 seasons of racing.

Great work, love your persistence. I have to ask one question, and I know this is going to sound counterintuitive to someone who loves hot rods... What kind of mufflers do you plan to run? To me, one thing that always made police cars so intimidating was how quiet they were/are. Back in the day, some of the local sheriff's put cutouts on theirs for that extra "oomph" when it was needed but otherwise they preferred them to be scary quiet. I kind like that idea.
