I'd like to be critical, but I know what a challenge these swords must have been. The first long blade I ever made, a kriegsmesser, performed much like these because I made the same mistakes. The blades are made extra thick and not as hard to absorb the stress, and as a result, the edge doesn't hold, and the extra weight makes the whole weapon feel unwieldy. Making a GOOD blade of this length is an art that takes years to perfect. It was a good attempt. I couldn't have done any better myself.

it's not because you can't do better that the stuff is good or OK", thoose weapon are bad, the smith are clearly not competent to make them, and even worse, they don't look to be documented on the sword they tryed to make. So no, it's not a good performance, yes, making stuff is hard, that why it's a job, you just can't go on a tv show and say "i'm a bladesmith it's ok" when you produce a piece of junk and everyone will juge the object like is a fair representation of what it is.

The 'Landsknecht' sword or the 'Zweihänder' as distance weapons were primarily used as a tool to open up enemy defence lines to splinter the wooden handles of lances, spears and halberds to allow the moving up fighters a short-range combat at the point of use. Stabbing & Cutting were less intended with that heavy and exhausting weapon. Test # 3 is showing the correct application.
