FORGE MOTORSPORT HIGH FLOW INTAKE HARDPIPE INSTALL! | MINI JCW F56

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I install the Forge Motorsport High Flow Intake Hardpipe for Mini Cooper S F56 2.0 Turbo!
Made from a single piece of aluminium with beautifully machined aluminium ends, it is very light weight, strong and really looks cool!
The F56 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works (JCW) comes from the factory with a secondary intake pipe that is made of plastic which is OK but will not stand the test of time after years of heat cycles (being so close to the turbo) so the Forge Motorsport secondary intake wins hands down in this area, and being aluminium it weighs about the same so double win!
The other main issue with the stock intake hard pipe is that it features a rather large resonator section which will both remove a bit of intake noise but also be restrictive to airflow by its very nature.
The Forge Motorsport crossover pipe is a straight through pipe and so completely removes this resonator section with the purpose of freeing the air flow to the turbo and has the bonus of potentially increasing intake sounds which is always fun!
I show the full installation process from start to finish so if you want to do this mod, you can follow along!
All in all installation is not too difficult, just a couple of fiddly bits and the stock pipe is pretty tight to remove because of that resonator section, and quality as well as fit and finish of the Forge Motorsport intake hardpipe for the Mini F56 John Cooper Works is excellent!
I really like how this looks in the engine bay - a definite upgrade while still being reasonably subtle - OEM plus one might say!
If you want to, you can spec this with a roll of gold reflective heat tape to wrap yourself for maximum performance (and maximum stand out looks in the engine bay!)
Forge Motorsport say:
This free flowing single piece CNC mandrel bent pipe is a direct replacement for the OEM plastic intake pipe and restrictive resonator. These parts have been developed at our UK HQ in Gloucester. This high flow intake pipe can be used with the OEM air box or alternatively with the full Forge intake system (FMINDF56). The intake pipe features CNC machined outlets therefore, any OEM plug-in parts (i.e. blow by heater and vacuum take off) are a no-hassle direct fit.
Designed as a direct replacement for the brittle OEM plastic boost pipes used on the Mini F56 JCW models. Manufactured in Aluminium tube with CNC machined couplers and smoothed formed mandrel bent aluminium single piece pipe work with hand TIG welded couplers providing an unrestricted internal flow. High quality silicone hoses are also included.
To ensure an OEM quality fit, both hard pipes have been carefully contoured to fit in the restricted space between the engine and chassis. No further modifications are necessary to the bodywork or pipework.
- Larger diameter giving increased flow compared to OEM
- All parts supplied to replace the entire OEM boost pipe system
- Reduced number of joins over OEM
- CNC machined couplers
- Mandrel bent single piece aluminium pipework
- Minimal airflow disruption
- Black powder coated finish
- All fitting hardware supplied
- The Forge silicone hoses in this kit have been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone
- This means the hoses are suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or air containing oil mist
- The construction of the hoses has been engineered to exceed that of the OEM fitments, and will enhance any engine bay both technically and aesthetically
- The use of a Fluorosilicone liner ensures that Forge silicone hoses are the clear market leader
- Lifetime warranty*

I removed the cowling for easier access, but your detailed procedure was otherwise the most helpful I found. Thank you.

Hi… I live in the province of Quebec, Canada. I have an Eventuri Carbon intake and after watching your video a few times, I actually ordered the Forge Motorsport High Flow Intake… I watched many installs, and yours is by far the best. I’m French Canadian and your English accent is great ! You should have a lot more followers.

Thank you Adam for not making a vanity video!! Camera was pointed at the right places, I used your video as a guide. I could not get the OEM pipe out as easily as you did, so I cut the center hose clamp and removed the snorkel. Another spot is the front battery housing cover, remove that and you have an straighter path out. Great instructional!!!

I broke the connection that attaches to the bottom of the blow by, im a bit paranoid that somehow its a sensor of some sort. Followed what you did with that connection. How would i know if my mini doesnt have the blow by heater? In some videos here they re connected that wire. Hope u can help me Adam, cheers

Great video, subscribed. If I am not mistaken Lohen charge for 3hrs fitting time for that. Am I missing something or does that sound excessive? I am thinking of adding this along with a Forge induction kit and intercooler to my '18 JCW before having a stage 1 remap. Any advise would be welcome. I am clueless really. Does this make sense!?

Hello, your videos are very good! But I have a question. Why doesn't blow off valve exist for F56?

Hard to say because filming makes any install take much longer than if just doing it normally. It is a bit tight and fiddly in places so give yourself at least an hour or so at least

I honestly cannot believe that every single part of anything to do with this engine requires some kind of soul draining single piece like the stupid ass wire clip
