Hi, is there a difference in the sports modes on each watch? I do a lot of classes (hiit, spin class and body pump) and wondered if either was better for those losses

How durable are these watches generally speaking? I’m starting military training next month and need something that will stand up to elements and rough military life

Garmin has their own military line called tactix. Maybe you're going to 'need' that since it can blackout completely and has 1 button to delete all and everything. Talk to your superiors and they will be able to tell you so you don't waste money on a watch you're not allowed to use.

IMHO FR255 is way better. Had both watches and tested them a few days, the 150-200€ upcharge for FR265 is not worth it. But I can only speak for then german market.

What did you not like about the 265? I am debating between them atm, and here in Greece the 255 is 300 eur while the 265 is 500... Feels really bad paying an extra 200 for basically just the amoled screen, although it does look SO much better and like it actually belong in 2023...

@@ouzododeka all depends on how much money you earn. I bought my FR255 for 250€ on ebay (used 2 months old). Maybe that's an option for you. Here in Germany everything is getting really expensive, but the wages don't increase in the same way. Energy prices are rising and on top of that our government wants us to insulate our house and buy new expensive "green" heatings. Even 250€ is too much for just a sport watch, at the current time. 😅

How big is the difference between AMOLED and MIP? I do like to have the nicest screen quality I can get if I can but not sure if it’s worth the price difference. Also, not to fond of touchscreen specially if it’s going to be used for working out

  • @beyondsection17

AMOLED looks like you’re looking at a phone screen, basically. MIP is dimmer and less vibrant, harder to see in dark conditions (but there’s a light you can turn on) but looks gorgeous and bright in daylight. MIP also means you have an always-on display that doesn’t affect battery life. If you switch your AMOLED watch to always-on display, battery life will take a BIG hit, and if you don’t have it on AOD, the screen will be black unless you tap it or use a wrist gesture. Different people have different preferences. A lot of people prefer AMOLED because the colours are vibrant and crispy. I prefer MIP because I like a more muted watch, I love how it looks outside and I really value having an always-on display. Can’t really go wrong with either!

255 has vertical oscillation and ratio as part of a firmware update. What it doesn't have is training readiness, which is yet another way to repackage HRV and HR into a single number. Nothing that makes the 265 worth it.
