Wow, you're in with the council, the mayor and the governor! You're so well connected in Roxas City, they have really rolled out the red carpet for you. Maybe they are trying to attract more foreigners to the city and Capiz? Thanks for sharing; you have to be one of the hardest working vloggers I've seen.

Philippine late National hero Dr Jose Rizal had Hokkien Chinese ancestors who migrated to Phillipines in late 17th century. His mother's lineage can be traced to the affluent Florentina family of Chinese mestizo families originating in Baliuag, Bulacan. Most Pinoys are mixed with Spanish, Chinese and native Filipino people. In Thailand Most Thais are mixed with Teochew and Thai native people. There are wide spread big celebration in East Asia and South East Asia. Even Japan before Meiji restoration celebrated lunar new year. After Meiji restoration they adapted western calendar. Manila Chinatown is the oldest one in this world.

you can tell it's home made and not some MSG filled food? You know that's racist, right? and just when you're attending a Chinese festival? i hope you be careful with what you say. it's offensive tbh (im sure you or some people would say I am over reacting or too sensitive).

Umm...msg is used in most fast food and processed food..and it wasn't invented in China..what the heck are you talking about? "Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer often added to restaurant foods, canned vegetables, soups, deli meats and other foods."

Glad you responded & very precisely, Michael. You can’t reply to every criticism, but this was definitely a “huh?” moment. I get that we can all have a bad day, even vlog viewers. But definitely overreacting & oversensitive, & imo misplaced criticism, esp use of word “racist”…& this is coming from a sensitive person. I’m Princess & the Pea sensitive! 😊😏🤷🏽‍♀️

P.s. there’s a lot of MSG in many processed foods too, in Western nations’ groceries. Not at all limited to Chinese or Asian processed foods….soups, sauces, ready made sandwiches, chips, etc….Doritos Ranch style, i believe! Ok I’ll stop. I like the OG poster’s probable intention to defend Chinese restaurateurs, but gotta consider the speaker’s intention, also. He meant it tasted fresh & homemade & tasty.

@ThatPhilippinesLife exactly why i said it is racist. why bring up MSG in a chinese fest when in fact it was a Japanese who invented that?! you know that for sure but i doubt that you understood the context of my comment... and i agree, MSG is used in a lot of food but I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW that chinese food is usually the center topic when it comes to MSG. YOU KNOW THAT it is the stereotype. right???

@wintersojourn9356 really, a huh moment? why even bring it up to begin with? YOU KNOW FOR A FACT that the reason why you brought it up was because, even if you dont admit it, there is unconscious bias towards chinese food containing MSG, now tell me if you didnt regard it as that 😀
