When I was 12, and in an emotional funk after loosing my father a couple years earlier, my mother insisted I start to learn an instrument to channel my energies. She told me to make a decision what instrument I would play in band by morning. I went to my room, upset that I was being "made' to take lessons. Then URGENT came on the radio, and I knew instantly I wanted to play SAXOPHONE, after this solo. I played saxophone and trumpet all the way through high school and then heard Stevie Ray Vaughan. Now I play guitar, bass, keyboard, saxophone, harmonica, and trumpet. All because I really listened to THIS SONG back in 1981.

No disrespect to today’s bands, but man, the 70’s and 80’s were the absolute pinnacle of great music. There isn’t a band today, that can touch Foreigner, or a TON of other bands of the era, like Journey, Van Halen, etc. It was a GREAT time to be alive, and YOUNG during those years. It wasn’t just music: it was books, it was movies, it was television. It makes me so very happy, when I see a young woman, like Bisscute, really enjoying, and dancing to songs like this. They truly are TIMELESS.

'Urgent' is a Foreigner hit single from 1981 (their 4th album '4')... but in this 2010 Foreigner performance, only Mick Jones (guitar) played on the studio track... Foreigner in 1981 was Mick Jones (guitar), Lou Gramm (vocals), Rick Wills (bass) and Dennis Elliott (drums). Over decades, Foreigner (who debuted in 1977) w/ Jones, Gramm, Elliott... w/ Ian McDonald (keyboards/guitar), Al Greenwood (keyboards) and Ed Gagliardi (bass) ... Foreigner changed members frequently in the 90's and beyond... The main songwriters were Lou Gramm and Mick Jones, but the 2 didn't get along in later years and parted ways in the 2000's. Mick Jones (guitar) kept Foreigner going w/ new members - bassist Jeff Pilson (former Dokken bassist), and vocalist Kelly Hansen (former Hurricane singer) and others, seen in this clip... Foreigner recently announced a final tour. Foreigner's current singer Kelly Hansen got some fame as the singer of the rock band Hurricane ...in the 80's, they had some success, but split up in the 90's... reformed briefly, and then split again... Hansen took over vocals from Lou Gramm in Foreigner since 2005. U can check out the classic Foreigner tracks w/ Lou Gramm on vocals... Glad you enjoyed Foreigner. Basically they are a tribute band now. No original member perform most of the time. I've known the original singer Lou Gramm for 20 years. He still performs with his own band. Try Midnight Blue or Just between you and me.

Midnight Blue is one of those nostalgia songs that just feels like the best part of the 80's, right up there with Summer of 69', Oh Sherrie, and Living on a prayer, in my opinion.

Great band. Even their lesser known songs like 'Star Rider' and Headknocker' are amazing.

I was working at the concert stadium they played in 1982....in Southern California. They played along with Loverboy, Iron Maiden and The Scorpions. There was some seriously wasted folks in the crowd....all the bands killed it 🤟. Foreigner sounded great live.

Bisscute, you need to be reacting to studio versions and versions when many of the bands were younger. It will be worth it!👍

Agree. It would nicer if the actual bend was there. Only the guitar player from the OG lineup is present. You can tell because he's the oldest guy there.

It was my "first love" song for ROCK music, absolutly amazing song !!!

Their first album "Foreigner" in the early 70's was outstanding and didn't have a single "filler". The original singer Lou Gramm sounded very similar indeed to the present vocalist but he had to deal with brain tumor surgery which then forced him to relearn how to sing; (which he did). Lou just retired from singing.

In my humble opinion, modern music will not stand the test of time. The stuff I grew up with has proven that classic rock, performed by true artist who can read and write music, play their own instruments, and sing without the use of audio enhancements, will continue. Bands like Foreigner, Styx, Journey, and Def Leppard have been rocking out for DECADES and are STILL touring. I have seen Def Leppard LIVE 7 times and Styx 10 times, and they have never given me a lack luster show. I recommend checking them out, Thanks to COVID lockdowns I have had time to watch a lot of reaction videos like your and have 'discovered' newer music and artists that are keeping rock and roll alive. NIGHTWISH, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, HALESTORM, and SABATON are among my new favorites. And leading the charge are the 3 young sisters from Mexico who rock like the old schooler's do, with an abundance of raw talent, charm, and passion. THE WARNING have given me hope that rock and roll will truly never die.

This is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE Foreigner song, there's none better for me. If you want some other greats, you cannot go wrong with the immortal Juke Box Hero, that's rightly regarded as they're VERY BEST hard rock track, and they did some truly AWESOME classic power ballads, the top tier of course being I Want to Know What Love Is and Waiting For a Girl Like You.

Great thing to step into the world of Foreigner. Beside "Journey" this is the best Melodic Rock band of all time. And I also like Kelly Hansen as a singer, but like others already mentioned you should definitely listen to the original versions too. Lou Gramms voice were an important part of the success the band had back in the days. Other Foreigner songs worth listen to are: - Juke Box Hero - Waiting for a girl like you - Double vision - Hot blooded - I want to know what love is

Kelly Hansen has always been impressive.

Even if it's not the original version, it's still good and your reaction is nice too, I like it.

I remember hearing their first album and I was hooked. So many great songs and albums. Bands always have to adjust do to circumstances. Kelly Hansen who took over vocals from Lou Gramm has kept the spirit of the band alive. His vocals, may not be Lou, but is very good. He respects the legacy, and that goes a long way. 😊😊😊

It's SOOOOOO much fun watching you jamming to, and loving, songs like this more than 40 years after we got to enjoy them for the first time.

Kelly Hanson was an excellent choice to carry on the Foreigner name with Mick. Great voice.

This is definitely on my list of favorite 80s songs of all time. Foreigner is an amazing group. Songs I definitely recommend are Say U Will, Cold as Ice, Feels Like the First Time, and Juke Box Hero. I think Mick is the only member from their hits, all sung by you know who, Lou from Rochester New York. Met Lou's daughter volunteering at the Bowery Mission here Manhattan. Didn't bring up her dad her being a fellow Christian and putting it to action was all that mattered. Reflection of her upbringing. 😊

I really enjoy watching your reaction videos! As good as this version was, if you can, please watch it with the original singer, Lou Gramm. You'll understand why :) If you are looking for other Foreigner songs, then obviously you will get recommendations for "I want to know what love is", "Waiting for a girl like you" or "Say you will. Might I suggest others such as "That was yesterday", or "Running the risk" or even "Double vision". I'm sure that you will enjoy them all!

Biss, you should check out more Foreigner songs like Juke Box Hero and Cold as Ice. I have never seen them perform live, and this was great to see. I loved the energy you gave to the reaction and you sharing this with the rest of us.

The singer was in a band called Hurricane, back in the 80's. They only recorded 2 albums but are worth checking out.

Foreigner put out some strong songs. Had some of their albums in my collection. You had to be aware of them.

Firehouse, ok...but the only time anyone ever needs to hear Two Princes again is when they get to hell...they blast it through the PA down there, along with Life is a Highway, Black Velvet, and All-star...🤣

The intro is better but you need to hear original album version. And this isn't first song I'd have you do. I'd say rocking like this Juke Box Hero, love song Waiting For A Girl like You or Feels Like The First Time. Break up Song Cold as Ice!

Foreigner is a legend, she has had many big hits and her songs are so lovely to sing along to. Guitarist Mick Jones is the last original member, but he rarely performs on a few songs, otherwise the band plays without him. But their shows are great, I was lucky enough to see them in the Olympia Hall in Munich, it's definitely worth seeing this band that wrote rock history live.
