Igor, It's been like this for a few years. Russia started becoming more strict about people applying for exactly the correct type of visa. I used to travel on business visas but was once told that I needed a private/family visa. The new family visa is fine, you get 12 months multi entry and can live there for the whole time. You could also think about applying for residency.

Hi. I was interested in your post. I have a Russian daughter living in Moscow with her mother. I used to visit all the time but recently with covid and now with visa problems I was thinking of getting a family visa. BUT... in the UK it doesn't seem to be any cheaper than a tourist visa. And you have to get a form filled in by the relative in Russia. So the tourist visa seems a bit easier. Do you know if there are any problems using a tourist visa if you are visiting family? Note! All visas work NORMALLY! Tourist visas and others! In this case, the visa in question is BUSINESS visa. Business visa needs to have an invitation by an actual company that yiu have business with. Not enough that u do some business in Russia, the invitation in the visa has to be by the actual company. Thanks for the comment. Im not into fake youtibe dramatics when its not needed. The info on the other hand is there, the business visa is now strict for travellers, especially using it wrong for tourism

I entered Russia on Monday via Kaliningrad Polish border with a business visa had no issues at all

I think one of the problems is, they look down on people who come in/out very often. Why don't you just go for a temporary resident VISA.

I dont think they are. On finnsih-russian border its about responding to eu/ finnish actions. Still relatively mild Compared to finnish
