Foreign Women on Dating FILIPINOS | Philippines 🇵🇭

In this video, I explore the dating experiences of foreign women in the Philippines. After discovering the perspectives of foreign men in my last video, I thought it would be a good idea to ask foreign women about the same topic. So join me as I navigate through BGC (Bonifacio Global City) in the heart of Manila. Where I gain valuable insights from women residing in the Philippines who have experience, dating Filipinos.
Curious about the dating dynamics, and what dating in the Philippines is like? These women share their perspectives on how dating practices and expectations vary, offering a fascinating glimpse into cross-cultural romance.

Most of the Filipino guys commenting are offended by hearing the truth. Being respectful doesn’t mean coddling and being clingy. Give space, be trusting, treat women as equals. Be patient. Not everyone wants to get married as soon as you meet them.

"treat women as equals" The truth is, women and men can never be perfectly equal. There will always be things that men, on average, can do better than women, vice versa. You can never make things equal with women, and trying to do so is a Sisyphean task. I'm tired of this bullshit western narrative corrupting the East. It's not a matter of Filipino men "being offended", it's simply just because it's wrong. I'm not saying these to defend the extremely emasculated males either, that's a different issue with a different root, even if it's correlated. Oh also, men who date to marry in the East definitely still exist, and it's an immense red flag if a woman does not date with the intent to commit. Don't know if that's the case in the west though.

As a Filipino-Chinese raised in a Western household married to a traditional Filipino man, I would say that all the comments of these women are spot-on. Reason why I hit it off my with my husband is because he’s not a mama’s boy, my biggest issue with Filipino men. Mama’s boys tend to be extremely clingy, overprotective and literally want a woman who’s more like their mom than a woman who can freely be herself.

I'm a Filipino and married to a wonderful German woman, been together for almost 12 years ❤ I would say at first we've a lot of difficulties specially on the culture subject. I let her live and experience what is the life in the Philippines and she did the same thing for me in Germany. We had to understand and respect our culture differences and as times goes on we learned each other on the positive way, through good times and bad times. My best advice for Filipino men dating western foreigners is to be open minded specially on the culture differences. 😊

Wow... I've never been to Germany, but I've met a good number of German girls in my time. I honestly think they're some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen... But from what I've heard, it seems like our culture and the way we do a lot of things are really different... Germans are known to be cold, upfront and temperamental while Filipinos are known to be warm, indirect and laid back. I know we're all individuals, but I feel like we're generally incompatible and don't have much in common... But then again, if Filipinas can date German guys and make it work, then we should be able to date German girls and make it work too.

Some of these foreign opinions are true. Compatibility is more important rather than choosing for ethnicity. The women chosen for interview seemed very westernized in thinking. Many Filipinos, Koreans, Thais and Chinese I knew married to foreign women prefer Eastern European women to Western women(American,British, Canadian) because accordingly, of easier compatibility. I had dated foreign women and Polish, Romanian, and Hungarian are easy to go with because of their family oriented and more religious mindsets. I lived in the US for many years!

The Filipino men they're describing are mostly educated and come from middle to upper middle class families and usually grow up surrounded by people who tell them to treat women with respect, to be a gentleman, and to be very caring about women because they represent their own Mom or sisters. So when they get to be in their teens or as adults, they tend to be very tactful, shy and dont really know how to be more assertive with women. But That's the minority of Filipino men. Most Filipino men are dominant, and want to show they're "macho" image or masculinity. The one thing I can say that's common among Filipino men is that they're romantic partners. And will go to some lengths to please their woman. But that doesn't mean they'll let their woman take the lead. You'll get mocked by your male friends if you do that. They'll call you "under the saya" which means you're under your wife's skirt and you're just a wimp

And when they feel they don't get back the same treatment form women or the women gets tired of the simpy clingy mamas boy nature or which ever comes first, then the relationship drama usually starts. They value marriage yes, but a cheating husband is actually very common and many times excused because "a man is a man." Male friends, co-workers, and family members covering up men cheating are very common. Most of the household now have both men and women who work but it is still the woman who is expected to do the housework. My female friend is a doctor (and supports the family financially) is still being insulted by her husband because she cannot cook, while the husband is unemployed and barely does anything because they have a helper. Filipino men (especially in the provinces) commonly have vices - drinking mostly. That is why a lot of filipinas are trapped in these marriages because there is no divorce or they suffer being a solo parent because not all fathers give child support. This is not in general of course, but if you live in the philippines long enough, you will see the reality.

It all comes down to where is the Filipino was born and raised. Filipinos here in the Philippines will treat their foreign girlfriends like gold the same way the females treat their foreigners boyfriends. If you go to the states Filipinos are no different than any other American. But I think it's way harder for Filipino men in the Philippines to hook up with foreign females they would consider attractive. The country pretty much thrives off of their females hooking up with foreign men.

@@debraglows This is my opinion as a filipino. Broken families can be 1. Due to poeverty. Filipino men are allowed by the catholic church to jave more kids and family planning is not allowed also by catholic church. Empty stomach can cause separation either the men work abroad or the women find another men to support her. 2. Filipinos men think when they have more kids its an image of being Macho. 3. The catholic church doesnt allow family planning and doesnt allow divorce equals broken families. 4. Even in Europe Sweden has the highest number of divorce followed by other european countries. 5. I have lived in germany since 1993 maybe you were not born that year. Germany has lots of divorces as well. But the government takes care of thier low income citizens. 6. I can explain more but what is happening in the Phillippine marriage is happening as well in many countries. 7. Online searchers for partners can be a cause as well of separations....and so on and so fort. 8. Unfortunaley men (women) dont have satisfaction in this world. Men continue in search for life, a true life. Lives can only be good, can only be better single or not ONCE They have Jesus in thier Lives. Jesus predicted the kind of life we have on earth being away from Him....like Homosexuality it is mention in old testament the Sodom and Gomorah where sex for men is just like a toy. Actually, Western women with Pinoy partners here in Pinas are NOT as rare as they were 15-20 years ago (and I actually personally know DOZENS of Western women who have "gone native" at some point during their stay here). Just because for instance American women don't date/hook up with Pinoy men much does NOT mean Western women of other nationalities aren't willing to try it. Most Western women I have come across in real life (both randomly and among people in my various social circles) who have gotten themselves Pinoy partners here in Pinas are actually European women (particularly Russian, French, British and German ones). But I admit, it often tends to be much easier to meet foreign women in beach resort town settings (think Boracay, El Nido, Siargao and their ilk) than in a big city like Metro Manila (where you have to know the "right circles" to gain access to them)!

@@mrconfusion87 Yes, I've heard about European women who married Filipino guys. Many of those women came from countries in Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, etc.), that are relatively traditional and in sync with our family-oriented culture. It helps that they are usually fit, friendly, and feminine, like many Filipinas are. Some look like models. What’s not to like? But in my circle, Filipino guys usually go for Filipinas, and vice-versa. My Filipino guy peers married in our twenties to local girls. No chance to get seriously involved with foreign girls even when they were assigned or have migrated to other countries. They can be considered as the top 1% in our country. The richest and most good-looking of us was engaged right out of college to a similarly attractive, not as wealthy Filipina. She pursued him. They are doing great. The good ones are taken out of the dating pool early. Some of my friends hooked up with local models when they were younger and broke but chose to marry traditional Filipinas later. A couple of my friends who were assigned abroad were popular with foreign girls. The girls they hooked up with were mostly Asian and some East European. One considered marrying a Lebanese woman but chose a Filipina girlfriend in the end. He also told me had good working relations with East European women and men because of similar cultures and attitudes. The two Filipinas I personally know who engaged in some hook-ups married traditional Filipino guys in the US. I doubt if the husbands know of their past. Those women are now traditional wives who defer to their spouses and are proud of it. One has a Master’s degree in a STEM field but chose to be a housewife. The traditional Filipinas I personally know who married foreign guys in the US outright are the ones who were considered wallflowers in high school. They were nice and friendly, but the competition for guys was fierce. Almost all the guys, including nerds and socially awkward ones, in our social circle have married and stayed married. On the other hand, we have a lot of single ladies who still want Filipino guys even if they have much better chances with foreign guys. One career woman married down, financially speaking, to an American bum. She bought her own engagement ring and paid for the wedding herself. She runs the house. She seems toxic, and no guy in our circle wanted her even if she’s probably a top-percenter in the US and is not bad-looking even to Filipino guys. I’ve read that Filipino guys were also reportedly popular with American women during the 1900s in California. Some of them were discriminated against and mobbed by local guys because of jealousy. That’s written in Fil-American history journals. The Western women I’m referring to in my previous comment are the modern women who are the "boss babes/ultra-feminists" who think men should serve them because they exist and that it’s ok to hook up with many men. They are usually from the USA, the UK, a large part of Europe, and, anecdotally, Australia. We also have those in the Philippines, but not as prevalent, and you can spot them miles away. No self-respecting Filipino will want a delusional girl with a high body count. You are right. There are also American/European women who married Filipinos. Many of those women have stayed in-country for a bit. Some are children of missionaries and appreciate the local culture. They also married in their 20's and probably didn’t have time to be ruined by the Western hook-up culture and feminism. There were lots of missionary families here two-three decades ago, Western women marrying Filipinos happens, but not nearly as often as Western men to Filipinas. Western women also generally look down on Asian men. You can see many stereotypes against Asian men coming from Western women in the mainstream and social media. Why bother? Chinese (mainland), Korean, and Japanese women are also attractive to many Filipinos, aesthetics-wise, but the culture seems a bit different. I personally don’t like women who are materialistic, have cosmetic surgeries, and wear lots of makeup. I see lots of ordinary Filipinas who do not need much help to be attractive. The ones I interact with daily usually have great personalities as well. They probably can get foreign men if they want to. I think that applies to many SE Asian women, too. I plan to travel around the region next year.

Wrong here in United States many Filipino guys height are mostly 5"10 to 6 foot tall. So they are not short. I see many Brazilian guys & other foreigners short in United States. Also there more Filipinos guys with white women in United States. If you go to Filipino restaurant or other stores I see pinoy husband white women couples and with kids.

I (german) am in a relationship with a philipina girl. I met this people and their culture during my working contracts on a cruiser. They are Very good seamans btw. One thing i learned: the advandige of interracial relationship is that the partners often dont understand each other 100% by terms of ther native language, which makes you and your Partner kind of immune against marytess/ marytoss (gossip). Also what i learned: white people are one of the most wanted Partners but they are also most difigulcts ones regarding their behaivor because they are Very selfish and arrogant. Social media is not Very good for all of us btw

Most western men can't even differentiate what is ugly and beautiful asian face...they are afflicted with the psychological phenomenon of 'Cross Race effect'.... Second, Korean pop culture dominate the country... Asian men is the favorite of philippine women and many Expats vlog don't even want to mention about this....

About the Brazilian girl, looking good in Brazil is such a competitive thing. I remember Daiana Menezes once said that her face in Brazil is a normal face, and she probably wouldn't stand out. But she's such an attractive lady here. And usually Brazilians here in the Philippines have jobs as commercial or runway models.

Girly? lol. Westerners have always misunderstood this about us. Not just approaching women. We've also been called "subservient" until they find out we're not. lol. It's a cultural thing. We're not as agressive as western men when it comes to women. We tend to e very careful in our approach to women, which makes it easy to to call us "girly"...until they find out we're not. lol.

What you're describing is being shy, not girly. Many filipinos definitely act girly. Ever heard others say "bakla ba yan?" Many guys take selfies all day, mga pa cute. Yung iba mga pabebe. Mga pa fall. Yung tipong kaka kilala pa lng sa girl, pag hindi agad na replayan, kukulitin ung girl hanggang mag reply. Those are girly traits. Pag may nakikilala akong ganyan nilalayuan ko, nababaklaan ako.

Girly means how asians look. Just look at those KPop. You cannot differentiate a man from woman base solely on their faces. I see them as Lesbians because they look like little girls. The influence of Kpop is becoming rampant in the Philippines. Some of these boys are like little girls unlike western men they know how to act like a real man.

As a Filipino guy, I definitely understand what those foreign girls were saying... I've met and seen a lot of foreign girls who are willing to date us, but it rarely happens because of the reasons they gave in this video. It's painful to hear, but true nonetheless. That being said, there are still Filipino (and Asian) guys out there who do well with white women. I think it's just the mismatch in culture and social dynamics that turns white (and foreign) girls off in most cases. And I think the main reason why there are WAY more Filipinas with foreign guys than there are Filipinos with foreign girls is because Filipino culture is matriarchal, so masculinity is pretty sparse in our upbringing as men. When the girls in the video started talking about how Filipino men were "feminine" I immediately knew what they were talking about. Being "feminized" as a man doesn't just mean acting like Vice Ganda or something like that. There's a masculine energy that you exude which comes out in the way you act and conduct yourself. They'll see it in the small things you do, the way you express yourself, your mannerisms, your values and so many other things... Women can definitely perceive all of that. I can only hope the next generation of Filipino guys become aware these flaws in our culture and upbringing and end them.

She said feminine as in baby face and no facial hair. Typical East Asian features. If Jason Momoa had the Filipino boyfriend character and personality, they’d be gushing about how he’s such a gentleman and would make the perfect husband. Filipinos are great. Western masculinity is toxic.

I wouldnt say that our filipino men's "femininity" should be called weak. I think part of the issue is that for most other places that, unfortunately, it isn't perceived as a "desirable" characteristic in men compared to someone perceived as more "masculine" :/ I think the ability to see the value(and perhaps the disadvantages) in both sides and to be able to discern which "side" can be applicable in certain situations can help a person become more well-rounded. Why cant a person be both anyways? But anyways, this issue feels like smth that needs a more lengthened and thoughtful discussion that, i, am too brain-dead rn to engage in 😂

Lol cope. Look at Hollywood. You see asian females fetishised but asian men made into gays or jokes. Prior to 2015 every asian guy was asexual. Mr chow in hungover, will hung from American idol, Jet li who couldn’t kiss a girl on camera. Asian men on dating apps have the lowest match rate by every race. Meanwhile asian girls have the highest. Nothing to do with culture. Women will say anything to justify what they feel.

Actually its because asian culture in general lacks that open dating dynamics. Most of us asian, men specifically are very rooted to our culture and custom that dating or sex before marriage is looked as taboo. This is the reason why most asian men lacks that 'game' when it comes to approaching women because there's little to no experience and most asian men in general don't have that 'smooth talk' because it's never been developed like I said. Most tourists gets the local women because they come with all the boxes checked on how to's and whatnot because western society specifically is more open about dating and sex and they're direct with their approach. Most asian men in general would never make the move because it comes back to the cultural appropriateness again. I know this for a fact because I'm indian and majority of the guys out here are just as described above and it would take a very patient and caring women to actually want to take their time out to fall in love with a local guy.

I’m filipino married to a beautiful filipina and grew up half my life in the Philippines and moved to the US when I was about 19. I definitely agree that guys typically are too clingy and that’s what the culture before was. But I think nowadays, that attitude is now changing. It’s just a matter of adjusting to the differences. And that’s really up to each individual. It’s interesting to see how different cultures percieve other cultures.
