My parents bought one new in 97'. It came with this video on VHS. I thought the Expedition was the coolest thing on the road. Held on to it for over 10yrs. Took it to prom in 06'. I loved it so much I bought one myself for my family. I hope our 19' Expedition will drive up the same feelings for my son as the 97' did for me.

@@marcosjuarez1998My condolences on your mother's passing.
Been working on a 97 Eddie Bauer edition for the past year. My friend's father bought it brand new in Michigan and had a front and rear passenger monitor installed for DVD's later in its life. Now, my friend drives it since her parents no longer use it unless for emergencies. It fell into disrepair for a long time in the garage. It has been both fun and frustrating to work on this but the more time I invest in it, the more I start to understand and grown closer to it. Just recently replaced the wipers, the front and rear bulbs as well as the fuse. It still needs a lot of interior cleaning and eventually an engine cleaning as well. What was once sitting in the garage for about ten years is now back on the road and serving well with the maintenance I've done to it.
“A masterpiece of automotive engineering”
Still driving my '98 Eddie Bauer.

Thanks for writing out the box wording in the description, really love these old videos. Thanks for uploading them and in such great quality.
I still have my 1999 Eddie Bauer 4wd. I have a 3 in lift on it. But even stock, these sat so high. The Chevys are so low to the ground and I hated that look. I like the tall Stance. And these were more proportional, the Chevy too long. My parents handed mine down to me in 2009 and they got theres new in 1998. It’s 2022 and I still have it. 279k miles. And it idles so smooth can barely tell it’s on. It shifts perfect. It sits high. And I will keep forever.

1996? As a Ford Trucks product planner, usually we make our videos the summer or spring before usual market launch. We launched the '97 Expedition on October 2, 1996 to customers, so although it's a 1997 model, these videos were taped in the spring/summer of 1996 and not "1997" (in parentheses).

did the facelift bring issues or do you just like the look better?
As much as I am a Ford enthusiast, I concede that the Chevrolet Suburban (although a larger SUV) had a thougher and more powerful engine and it was better built. I had the chance to drive a late 90's Expedition and even with the 5.4, it felt sluggish when accelerating from a standstill. The ride was nothing to write home and it was not particularly reliable. On the other hand, the '94 Chevy Suburban that my father owned ran stronger, despite the fact of having the 350 TBI (Non Vortec engine) and less hp and torque numbers than those of the Expedition. It gave my father six years of good service, with little to none troubles; and the time he sold it, the Suburban had nearly 250 000 miles.
How do I turn the child safety lock off this mf 😂

Omg seriously 🤦🏽♀️ lol
wait hold on.. is this the SAME FORD.... that created the disaster of a 1999 Ford F150?
Cooling system, spark plugs issues, and a suspension only meant to carry the weight of an unloaded single cab F150. Yea, fix these issues EVERY YEAR and it will run forever 😂. The 5.4s didn't explode by anymeans... but owning one you might as well spent the maintenance on an exotic suv with more power.
Ford was behind GM in presentation, the whole female male reviewer at the same time is redundant and unnecessary. The lady presenter was more than enough. The male reviewer was wayyyy too eager and over zealous 😅. Cringe worthy. But lady nailed the cadence, volume and communication skills needed to convey what needs to be conveyed. It seems like this guy is from a news anchor position. The deep inhales, and quick talk is jarring.
